My 6-month-old son is intact. At his first WBV, his ped gently pulled back his foreskin and told me to pull it back regularly to clean the area. At his last visit a few days ago, she again pulled it back slightly and said, "you're moving this back to clean, right?" I said yes, but in fact I have not been doing it since I read a few things about it in this forum. I probably did it 3 or 4 times before deciding that she was wrong.
First, can someone please confirm that I am right and she is giving me bad information? I hate confrontation and putting people on the defensive, but I feel strongly that I need to set her straight on this issue. This is a busy practice with a lot of doctors, so I wonder how many other intact babies are getting the same treatment.
I searched the sticky threads and found some information about never pushing the foreskin back, but I would like some supporting evidence to print out and bring to her. I think she will take it more seriously if it is from a source she finds credible. I have two children under 2 and have very little time to search out info myself. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
