using Kool Aid to dye eggs?

Has anyone done this?

I was wondering if it left the taste of the Kool Aid on the hard boiled eggs when you were done?

You know - Cherry hard boiled eggs, or Grape hard boiled eggs?

I have so much kool aid that I thought it would be fun to try - but I want to be able to make deviled eggs later.

Ok...gave it a try. So far my eggs don't taste like Kool Aid.

Here's the finished product.http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...eastereggs.jpg

Very impressive!!!

My DH doesn't even like eggs, and he thought maybe we should make some b/c the coloration was so cool.

Take care,

Thanks.....The stripes on the eggs are from rubber bands I wrapped them in.

I used 1 Kool Aid packet to one coffee mug 3/4 full of water and 3 tablespoons vinegar in each mug.

I let them soak for 15-20 minutes.

Awesome! I did this this year too but hadn't seen your thread. I had brown eggs and they turned out kind of speckled looking. Sadly my grocery only had 4 kinds of koolaid and one was too light to use with my brown eggs, but I like the idea and might try it again next year.
