photovoltaic solar panels

Has any one had these installed for their residence? Was it worth it? I've always wanted to have these, but the price seems so big. Also we live in the pacific northwest where it is pretty cloudy all winter (but I hear we get more sunshine than Germany who is the leader in slar energy). We'd get some sort of converter thing to hook it up to our utility, so we could sell electricity to them if we had extra. I guess we would then get a credit and use it in winter when not so sunny. Also, we were thinking of getting a small electric town car kind of like this http://www.zapworld.com/electric-veh...rs/xebra-sedan

or maybe something simpler from a local designer http://www.blueskydsn.com/BugE_Concept.html

I guess in my quest to go green for me solar and electric are the ways I want to go, but I don't know ANYONE who has.

We get all our solar stuff from www.backwoodssolar.com There prices are reasonable and the people are great for info. Our system is really simple, not grid-tied and is DIY, but the can help with the whole spectrum. If you are near portland you could call www.mrsunsolar.com.
