Scratched stainless steel pots safe?

Hi,
I have burnt my stainless steel pots and scrubbed them hard with harsh pads out of ignorance. I wonder if it is safe to keep using these pots? They are really scratched to death. Time to replace them? Are there any brands that are not made in China or India? Thanks!

I would think stainless steel pots would be the same composition all the way through so scratches wouldn't matter.

I wouldn't worry about it. The one reason I love using my stainless steel pots is that I *can* scrub the heck out of them with stainless steel or steel wool pads to clean them. It shouldn't hurt them. I don't notice really horrible scratches on my pots though....if the pads are leaving deep grooves or scratches that are incredibly noticible when you run your finger across them I'd wonder if they're really stainless steel and not aluminum.
Just a thought.
