Just a quickie.

Klaus was born at home on March 18th at 10pm. When he came, he came very fast. He was having trouble breathing and I had a major tear so we transferred via ambulance.

He is in the NICU and slowly improving but needs good healing vibes. He came off of the CPAP today and I got to hold him (isnt that a horrible thing to say?) and love him. I'm pumping, he is having trouble digesting the colostrum. One day at a time. Pumping is horrible and I hate it.

Because of his swift entry I tore the bejeezus out of the Wookiee. I nearly lost BOTH labia and tore my perineum so severely that the surgeon could fit her fist into the cavity. I had only seconds to decide what to protect. I decided to save my clit, and then I decided to save his head from hitting the floor.. luckily I saved my clitoris and helped him land semi-gracefully.

I was put under general for surgery and my husband stayed with the baby. He has been amazing, he had instantaneous unconditional love for this baby and he has just been a rock to both of us. I can't imagine doing this without him. He has been so attentive of Klaus' needs and an advocate beyond what I thought he was capable of.

I am home for the moment, I have a friend helping me tonight while H gets some sleep. I really need good healing vibes please, I am in a lot of pain and REALLY ache for my baby.

I will post the full birth story sometime next week. My mom is on her way to help me. Until then, here is a crappy camera phone pic of my sweet strong little man.

Wow, you've been to the wars! Glad your little man is earthside and I hope that you get to feeling better soon. He looks like a strong little dude, I have no doubt that he'll perk up and be blowing out colostrum diapers in no time. You're lucky to have your man doing such a wonderful job, aren't those great daddy types wonderful?

Sending lots of good healing vibes : and s to you and your family. Be gentle with yourself, heal up and before you know it, you'll have your sweet baby home in your arms.

OMG that sounds so scary, so very scary, how can you almost lose (severe?) your labia when giving birth, wouldn't they get pushed out of the way to the side? I can understand how a tear happens but not that.
How could you decide what parts to protect, did you hold them with your hands?
And then breathing problems, I don't think after reading this I can plan to stay at home alone anymore How many minutes away was the hospital transfer?

Oh my goodness! Congratulations! I must admit...I'm a bit fearful for my clit suddenly...but what will be will be and it sounds like you and Klaus did a great job! I'm so proud of your dh for stepping up and being amazing! That must be so endearing...and bonding...I'm glad he is there for you!

Congratulations again, and I hope you and Klaus are well and recovered in miraculous time!

all I can say besides congratulations is WOW! that is my #1 fear in child birth.... tearing. Im starting to freak out a bit. how big was your baby? did his size contribute to it? Im told I have a big baby and Im just fearing the worst...although Im told I should have no trouble since im about 5 ft 8 inches tall but still. Also I forgot to ask is this your first?

My heart broke for you reading your post.

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS! I know it may feel funny syaing that, it feels funny when people say it to me having a NICU baby because like you said I dont feel like a "real" Mom. So many, MANY congratulations on your birth, and your beautiful darling boy. You did a wonderful job and you should be proud of yourself.

Sorry you are in so much pain, in all ways. Hopefully everything heals soon and your babe can be in your arms. Big hugs, I know how much you need them.
