Latex mattress cover question

Thread Starter
I'm ordering a latex mattress from www.foamsweetfoam.com and I'm unclear as to whether it contains chemical flame retardants.

I emailed the company this question:
Do your mattresses and pillows contain flame retardants? If they do, is it possible to get them without?

They replied:
No. The mattress will come with a Viledon 322 cover which is removable for washing or any other reason.

What does that mean? Does that mean the wool cover that comes with it is chemically treated? I've googled but can't figure out what a Viledon 322 cover is and if it is natural. Does anyone know? I've asked for clarification from the company but so far no response.

Thanks, Linda

this does not strike me as a company you can trust.....
there is also no mention of the wool being cleaned without toxic chemicals. in fact it states that wool is so itchy but you'll never touch it cause it is covered with (non-organic) cotton. the wool itch is the trademark of having been cleaned with carbonbic acid. it probably does have flame retardents.

Thank you for your reply. I did purchase a bed from them but then cancelled it the following day. The more I thought about the cover the more it didn't sound like what I wanted for my daughter. I priced casings from other companies and they ran $400-$600. For that price I might as well buy a whole mattress that is organic from someone else.
