Mourning my UC

Im 25 weeks... In the hospital and will be delivering within 48 hours. Im mourning my UC and my healthy baby.. mourning the lotus birth I planned and placenta smoothie.... not being able to announce the babies gender. Gosh this sucks.

My water is broken. There is no fluid around baby. Once all the steroids have had time to work then they are stopping the meds and letting me deliver.

There was a mama recently that managed to get quite a bit more time (at the hospital, but still) after her water broke. Something like saltphoenix? Might be worth searching.

I used to be in your DDC- wishing you and the baby the best, and wishing you all the strength you'll need for the birth and what comes after.

Khourt, you are completely in my thoughts & I'm constantly sending you positive vibes. I find myself hoping/wishing/praying that you'll be able to have at least one purely peaceful beautiful moment of your labor and birth.

I'm so so sorry you don't get the birth you've dreamt of your whole life. : But, I hope you can find some of the qualities of that dream in this birth. While you won't be able to birth a giant 10 pounder at home catching him/her yourself, you may be able to announce the gender if you request. You may be able to find yourself with a quiet moment to just stroke your baby through your abdomen as you feel him/her coming closer to you and whisper your dreams for him/her. Maybe you can be the first one to touch him/her by reaching down & feel his/her head coming out. I really hope you get some of that kind of magic at your birth.

You are so so in my thoughts. Sending you love! And, focusing on peace and gentle and health for you & babe.

Best of luck whatever may come. It's possible to have your membranes reseal while on bedrest, if your labor stops. The fluid constantly replenishes itself so try to stay hydrated to get that baby in water! Good luck!
