I'm so proud of my DS.
He has a research paper due on Monday and he has finished it. Well, sort of...he's finished the first draft and I'm going to help him edit it for grammar and punctuation. He'll make the corrections tomorrow and finish the works-cited page, but all in all, the big part is done and he'll have a completed assignment to turn in on Monday.
I know this may seem like a small accomplishment for most kids, but my 15 yo DS has been struggling through school for the last several years, completely uninterested, lazy and the world's biggest procrastinator. So, the fact that he even began this paper before the night before it was due is a big step in the right direction.
I'm hoping maybe we've turned a corner...but I'll still be happy for just small victories, even if we haven't rounded the hard stuff yet.
