My dd loves Jim Weiss. She also loves the Barefoot Book of Fairies, Story Tree(also a Barefoot Book) and The Town around the Bend.

Barefoot books and Jim Weiss are fabulous. You can also get the Magic Treehouse series on audio book and Frog & Toad.

Have you checked out www.shooflyaudio.com? There are always one or two songs or stories we end up editing out for various reasons, but we have a huge shoofly playlist that we love!

Also anything by Jessie Modic... she has three albums of song/stories for kids which are really fabulous and not the least bit violent or mean or anything... very sweet!
You can download her on iTunes or Napster or buy her CD's on amazon.

These are my son's favorite Barefoot Books cd/book sets:

* The Gigantic Turnip

* Magic Hoofbeats

* The Princes Bedtime

* The Barefoot Book of Animal Tales

* Jack and the Beanstalk

* Storytime: First Tales for Sharing

There are many other book/cd sets but my son really prefers the ones above.

DS loves The Mouse and the Motorcycle and Ralph S. Mouse, both of which we downloaded from itunes. I would love to get him James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but he's not ready yet.
