biodegradable chux

i've seen threads where people are talking about using washable chux for the birth, but i just don't know if we'll want to deal with that. there's so much else to do, i don't want to have to worry about having enough washable chux too. that leads me to these. i saw them in the grocery store's sale paper last week and i started thinking. the normal puppy training pads are the same things as chux, so i would assume that these are too. so am i crazy for thinking about buying these? what do you think?

I think it's a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

oh, and i thought i should add, we've used their stain remover solution for years, and it gets EVERY stain out. blood, vomit, poop, pee, you name it. if it's gross and it's hard to get out of carpet, this stuff will get rid of it! (we have 3 dogs, a cat, and a toddler, so we've used this stuff lots.) i would definitely recommend having some in your birth kit to get any stains out with!

Do you have to order online or do big HFS's like whole foods carry them?

actually, they sell them at pet stores and major grocery stores. there's a link on the left of the page for retailers too.

Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely get some of those to have on hand. It's a great compost option. If they end up in the landfills they won't have the chance to biodegrade, though. I'll compost ours in the heap, but I wonder if green binning them would be an option, too?

Wow, thanks for sharing this! I live in an inner-city neighborhood with lots of trash pickers looking though dumpsters. I get really yucked out about the idea of exposing folks to drippy chux pads. Hopefully if I bury these in the middle of the compost pile the raccoons and rats will stay out!
