Ayla Rose-Marie was born 3/22 at 5:04am.
9lbs 3oz, 21.5 inches, LOTS of hair!
Labor was 4 hours 4 minutes.
I called m/w last night because I was having irregular contractions that weren't overly painful every 5-7 min. She was nervous about it, even though I wasn't, so came to check me, getting here around 11:30pm. (I have a history of quick births...dd was only 2 hours, and they are an hour away at least) Did an aggressive exam, found I was 5cm, but could easily stretch me to 7, and had a huge bulging bag. So dh and I went to bed and contractions started exactly at 1am. Got in the tub around 3:45, she checked me at 4:15 and I was 6cm, stretchy to 8, 90% effaced. Figured it would be a while! I went to the bathroom, got back in and immediately hit transition. Went from 6cm to holding my baby in less than 45 minutes.
I only pushed on accident three times, and I breathed her out in 5 contractions. WAY intense to go from 3-4 minutes apart to that in an instant. I caught her, and she was so serene in the water, just looking up at me. She had a huge heart shaped placenta and a 24" cord! We're completely in love! After being non-interested in nursing the first 24 hours, she's now a barracuda, and wants to nurse all the time.
