another "what would you knit?"

I have one ball of wool my brother gave me for christmas (random I know!) that I would like, if possible, to knit something for the baby with. It's 120m/50g, 22 sts/28 rows = 10 cm.

I'm awful at finding things to knit, working out how much yarn I would need for a project, doing swatches etc etc... Any ideas?

How old is your baby? Is the yarn something you could knit a teething doll from? Or a baby blanket?
