Well, late but Happy Easter everybody!!!!

I am 12 weeks on Tuesday and CANNOT WAIT to be in my 2nd Trimester. And on top of that I just bought my plane ticket to Maryland for April 9th. DH graduates tech school here on April 4th, we will drive to El Paso, I leave on the 9th and DH will drive up with his dad on April 11th. I am so excited to finally be at our PDS!!! Well, I hope everybody has a great week And good luck to those of you with any kinds of appts this week and all that jazz

we are leaving tomorrow to pick up our new car. im anxious, excited and stressing out. there are so many things i need to do today. I don't know that I will get them all done. Other than cooking dinner yesterday, I spent the whole day doing laundry and ironing....argh!

We saw Horton hears a Who on Sat. I thought it was a cute movie.

Please someone tell me the airline is going to be nice to me and my toddler!!! That is what is stressing me out more than anything! lol!

I've flown quite a few times with my ds and always got such nice treatment. You get to board first, and most times if you get nice people around you they let you out first, or don't mind you taking your time getting your things together. One flight someone elses kid screamed the entire way.. 3.5 hours. That was not fun, but no one say anything to the mom. I think people are pretty tolerant, there's only so much you can do with a little one who's unhappy and wants to play. I'd recommend (if you're not already) slinging your dc, it's so much easier to get through the airport and on and off the plane with the little one on you. My BH was great for this, because he was on my chest and out of the way, and I could carry my bags behind me. Good luck! It won't be so bad!

I've had incredibly nice experiences flying as well...everyone seemed much nicer than I could have imagined. Things have a way of working themselves out...

A recommendation from a friend that worked for me...bring a roll of tape...any kind you think would work well. Use it at the tough point (if there ends up being one...) stick the tape to the seat and let you little one pull it off...put tape on each of his/her fingers...etc. play with the tape and a time waster.

Also, bring a TON of food munchy food...granola, trail mix, anything your lo really loves. I let C. have juice as a treat and that worked super-well (with the exception of the constant diaper change).

Wow, good luck with all the travel everybody. I've found air travel with DS to not be bad.

I am taking a sick day today since I had three separate migraines over the weekend and am just coming out of the last one. Wow, I am shot. I really am looking forward to the 2nd tri. But if I remember from my last one, I didn't really start feeling better right at 12 weeks, it may have been more like 15 . . anyone else have that?

I am envious of you all who are traveling...I wish I could travel away from here, away from the cold and snow: I awoke yesterday to big fluffy flakes and strong winds...We got a few more inches of snow. I'm not sure that winter is ever going to end.

I have my first appt. this week...just with the nurse to get the info collection started...then actual dr. appt. next week with that wonderful pap thing...

I'm 11 weeks as of yesterday. Life is starting to return to normal. I haven't really been sick since 6-7 weeks, but I have been much more tired than usual.

I think I wore a certain pair of pants for the last time yesterday. I can tell that it's getting close to that time of having to either rubber-band the button to the button hole or to start wearing the elastic...

ive had good experiences flying with E before but in the last week, i have heard of one airline not allowing the use of an FAA approved car seat, applesauce and other "non liquid" stuffs being taken away prior to boarding and a few other things that i cant think of right now. Ill be ok once I am back in control of the situation (i.e., on the ground driving). lol!

Considering we wont be able to access food or drink after board at 11am until after 5pm, TSA is making me nervous IRT the foods we take w/ us. I intend to pack some food so we can have it after we get off the plane and before we get to our car but one never knows with that....could be squished to nothign by the time we get it back.


i WISH i weren't traveling this week! yes, its still cold here but this trip isn't a "vacation" of any sorts so......

E is a fairly easy tempered kid so im not really worried about him...more worried about the airlines, TSA, etc. etc. I really need to get on the flight and end up in Ga. at the end of tomorrow....someone telling me i cant use our car seat is going to really freak me out...

Im a worrier though...so i will worry about everythign. I have all the FAA regs printed out, etc. etc., as well as our car seat manual so it shouldnt be an issue.

We told my extended family on my Mom's side over the weekend while we were all together for Easter. We got a Dairy Queen cake and had "And baby makes three! Oct 17, 2008" put on it. They didn't get it right away but that's because we were also having a baby shower for 2 of my pg cousins this weekend. They thought DQ just got the date REALLY wrong! I finally had to say, "This is MY cake....." Feels good to tell everyone. I just hope we aren't telling too soon. It was just really convenient since everyone was together (I have a really large family).

Anyway, nothing too terribly exciting other than that. I felt pretty good for about 3 days with only mild, short-lived nausea very early in the mornings. Today is a different story. I knew it was too good to last!

Yeah. I didn't get better right at 12 wks either. It seems like it just eased away gradually between 12 and 15. I did start feeling good about 15.

Oh, the roll of tape is a great idea. We've done that a couple of times with dd. Duct tape or masking tape seems to work best. It also works well as a bracelet, anklet or a cup to put other toys in if you lay it on the table. It's a very versatile toy. Hopefully, it will work well enough that no one will suggest you use it on your child's mouth.

I have flown with DS several times so far and it has been a breeze. When he was a month old we flew to CA for a month to visit family, and back to TX and everybody was sooo nice. I had him in the Mamma's Milk Sling and all was good. Then over Christmas we flew to PA (with like 3 stops...) and back to TX and again everything was peachy. I am going to be flying to MD in April, which is where DH and I are moving, and he is going to drive with his dad while DS and I fly... that long of a car trip could just not be a good thing for Petri or I... THEN in July I am going to be flying to CA again to visit my family (as I haven't seen them since last August) and flying back to MD in early August... I am hoping that everything goes swimmingly.

I agree that taking him in a sling/baby carrier would be best... unless of course he hates that... I know some babes who grow out of it in less than a year! And I know airlines can be iffy about liquidy food, so the best food to bring would probably be dry food, or even whole fruit... Good luck!

I don't want to scare you at all but with DS I has m/s and nausea up until about 25 weeks. It wasn't as bad as the m/s and nausea this time, but it was consistently long lived. I am hoping this time I get better a LOT sooner...

Aww that is awesome you got to tell everybody!!! And too funny. I could just see some ppl's expressions... October 17th, but that's not right... lol. Very cute idea

Not much going on with us. I'm 12 weeks today by my LMP. DD is out for spring break so DS isn't standing here whining for me to hold him. Yay! I got up at 8:30 and made us all pancakes. 8:30!

I'm up 5 pounds exactly at 12 weeks. I'm choosing to be ok with that. If I gained a pound per week for the next 28, I still wouldn't surpass what's recommended so I'm trying to relax about it.

Hi All!

My birthday was on Saturday and I think it was the best birthday I've ever had. I went into NYC with DH and we met his family (Mom, Dad, and 2 brothers) at the Auto Show. We spent some time there (LOVE the car show) and then we all went out to Candle 79, this AMAZING vegan restaurant on the upper east side. It was their first experience at a vegan restaurant, and they LOVED the food! It was so great! They were sharing off each others plates, they kept going on and on about how great it was, and I was just in heaven! It was a great birthday!

Other than that, we also told Chris's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins yesterday on Easter. My MIL went NUTS and got all pink and blue everything, instead of usual Easter colors, and I baked cupcakes (pink/blue frosting) and she make cookies in the shapes of rocking horses and bears. When they finally "got it" after my MIL announced we had a new baby coming, they were so excited for us!

I got a Bella Band for my birthday and can I just say...wow. I can sit, bend over, and BREATHE again?! This is the greatest invention EVAR!

I have 2 appointments this week. One on Wednesday just for a checkup, and on Friday I go for my 1st Trimester Screening. Wish me luck!

Carrie, with your bella band, are you wearing it because your pants are getting tight or because it just makes your tummy feel more comfy? One of my cousins gave me hers along with a couple pairs of mat pants but I'm not sure when to start using it. I really don't like any pressure on my tummy and my pants still fit but I'm showing a little bit. Recommendations?

I feel the exact same way...I swear we just celebrated the coldest easter on record...and I'm soo done with it, my boys are so done with it!! All I keep hoping is that I will be into my second trimester in two weeks and hopefully feeling better just as the weather should start getting better....and I can really enjoy being in my second trimester in spring and summer....That is what I tell myself anyway!!! I feel like crap so the weather might as well be crap...right?? lol

With both my boys my M/S started late...around 9 weeks...and went to about 15 weeks or so...this time around it started about 3 days after O and I was hoping it would let up sooner...but no such luck...I am 10 weeks today and it's just has bad has it has been, in fact today is a miserable day, becasue to top it all off my boys have bad colds and are miserable...so it's not a fun house!! On the postive side I haven't thrown up so it's not bad morning sickness...just all day icky feeling.

We went on Friday...and the boys really enjoyed it...it was Rufus first movie and he did really good....dh and I liked it as well...thought it was cute.

^Glad to hear some good reviews on Horton. DH and I have wanted to see it but were torn because we'd heard more bad than good.

Isn't 5 pounds about the norm for 1st trimester weight gain...? I have gained back the 5 pounds I lost... so I am at my pp weight at the moment...
