As though a larger baby would necessarily impede the birth. On top of all the stuff about late term u/s being notoriously inaccurate for estimating weight. Every person I've known who was told their baby was going to be OMG HUGE!!! ended up with a baby under 8lbs, and often under 7.
Good luck with that appointment though, if you go.
In response to the OP ... still here. 40w and 5d so far. I think today might be the day though. I started losing bits of my mucous plug on Friday, with there being bloody show Sunday and this morning, and I'm also crampy and having mild contractions at present. Of course it could mean nothing, but I went into labour at 40w2d with my son, and had the same crampy feelings and mild contractions the morning of his birth too, so it feels the same.
Enough contractions that I can cancel my son's OT appointment this morning, so I don't have to endure another round of "did you pop yet? so, how are you feeling? did the baby drop? are you feeling contractions?" which she's been asking me 3 times a week for the past couple of weeks. I think if I have to hear it one more time I might stab her at this point. I don't mind still being pregnant, but having to answer those questions all the time, especially by the same person, is getting irritating.
