Which do you prefer?

I voted other. I actually own all 3 kinds.

I prefer the Sigg for my older boys. They are 4. (twins)

For my 2 year old, he uses either the Foogo or Kleen Kanteen. He can't figure out the twist part of the top on the Sigg....consequently there are too many leaks.

Me personally, I prefer the Kleen Kanteen or Foogo, since they can go in the dishwasher.

I really detest washing things by hand, but I will do it to preserve my $15 sippy cups (the Siggs).

I really like the foggo sippy for my 14 mo. and the foggo straw thermos for my 5 year old (school lunches and car trips).

Klean Kanteen.
It's so durable and can go in the dishwasher.
And I am trying to avoid aluminum, so that's why I decided against the Sigg.

I prefer my KleanKanteens. My husband prefers his Sigg.

Sigg, because it's made in Switzerland, as opposed to China like the other two.

However, I've been thinking of getting a Foogo or KK because they have sippy spouts. Sigg just has the twist-cap, which allows my "experimental" toddler to pour the water everywhere.

I prefer SIGG. I have KK and I don't like them. They are always cold to carry, they dent easily, and I always get a metal taste with my water. The SIGG are easier to carry and are not as cold (I have the shaped sporty ones), they don't dent as easily, and water tastes like water.

For the cold issue, we just put a koozie (sp?) on the KK sippy. Like you would on a soda or beer. Helps it not feel so cold to the touch, and is just a bit of padding, incase it would get dropped...maybe not dent so much, or hurt little toes.

I do prefer the Sigg for myself too.

I am loving "the safe sippy" for DD right now! We did just order some KKs too but I've not tried them yet.

Right now I love the Foogo, as I find it's easier for DS to figure out, and very similar to a BF baby latch. I think the KK will work better later, when he wants to drink more at a time.

The only other problem I have with the Foogo is that you have to put it together VERY carefully or it leaks. (The lid comes apart into 4 pieces.

I really wanted to love the Siggs, but I just don't. They're okay, but not great. I don't like that they're not insulated and they do dent easily. I also wish they could go in the dishwasher, but that's not a deal-breaker for me because we only drink water out of ours so they're easy to clean by hand. I bought one for each member of my family and got 3 kinds of tops, the sport, the (not sure what it's called - looks similar to sport, but it twists and you press down on it to drink) and the simple screw top. We hate the sport, but my 6 year old likes the twist top, but he holds it down with his hands to drink which looks awkward to me). DH and I prefer the screw top. My 2 year old hated his bottle (maybe he would have liked the sippy top, don't know).
I've been trying to find a Foogo for my littlest with no luck, but we have 3 of the same brand's Funtainers with the straws for the 6 year old and they're pretty nice. I like that they're insulated, easy to clean (nice, wide mouths) and sturdier than the Siggs. I don't like the flimsy rubbery upper straw; my 6 year old chews on it and all 3 are getting ragged. You do get a replacement, but after that who knows. Of course if your child won't do that it's not an issue.
I was going to get a Kleen Kanteen to compare, but I have a feeling I won't like the lack of insulation.
I wish there was another good option out there.

I just got my first SIGG by mail today and so far I am very impressed. I too was concerned about the aluminum issue, but an article on the company's website set my fears at ease. I so much prefer to do business with European companies rather than Chinese ones; I just came across a metal water bottle marketed to kids which has been recalled for lead!

As for the dishwasher concern:
Quote:
The Swiss recommend washing your SIGG bottle by hand. They advise against using a dishwasher primarily because the SIGG opening is rather narrow and a dishwasher stream may not reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle for thorough cleaning. Additionally, continued washing of a SIGG in a dishwasher may in time cause the exterior paint coating to fade. The dishwasher will not cause any damage to the inner liner of the SIGG bottle.

I perfer the kleen kanteen or the siggs, but I haven't tried the foogo.

I love our Siggs. I wouldn't dream of giving Ben one - he's only 17 months and would destroy it in 3 seconds. He'll be on Born Free sippies until he's old enough to handle a $15 water bottle.

I voted fogoo, but we actually have funtainers. I love that they are insulated. My 19mo loves them and so does my 6yo. The only thing I don't like is that they leak when the toddler leaves them laying down.

I'm not sure what Foogo is but I have Siggs and KKs. Both are too expensive and the Siggs still have aluminum and some kind of mysterious coating on the inside they won't really identify so I don't like it. I have some Thermoses with straws that my 2 yo dd loves. They're stainless steel and cheaper than KKs so I'm going with them.

I think Foogoo is Thermos?

Anyway, I'm going to get a Klean Kanteen. The no dishwasher thing for the others just won't work at our house. Everything seems to ends up in the dishwasher, I've even found my crystal wine glasses in there.

I would really like to try Sigg-- where do you all get yours from? I'm looking for the cheapest source. I'm already buying produce bags from reusablebags.com, so I may end up going with them. Just thought I'd ask!

I prefer SIGG for me and KK for my kids.

For DS I love the foogo - I love that its stainless steel and is so easy to wash. I also love that I can make it leak proof or not, depending on what he's drinking (juice/water vs something thick). I hate that its made in china, but I know its stainless steel so I don't worry (vs aluminum w/ proprietary lining with god only knows what in it). For me I have a stainless steel water bottle from guyot designs ("ethically made in china" :eyeroll. I really wish stainless steel water bottles made in the usa/europe existed, but they don't so I deal with MIC. I'd do a KK but I can't justify the extra expense when I can get a foogo for less and not pay shipping...
