Homeschooling in CA on Diane Rehm at 11am

The Diane Rehm 11 am show (at least where I live!) on NPR today will be about Homeschooling and the CA court decision.

I"m not sure if anyone else has posted that this will be on, but get ready to call in (I'm a frequent caller in to the Diane Rehm show LOL )

What time zone do you live in? There's no time zone listed in their website. Lillian

I'm on Eastern time. I'm not sure how that show works for the rest of the country.

I really like the Diane Rehm show, but I found the guy from Stanford very frustrating : I also was irritated w/ the constant references to "socialization" and the caller who felt bad for the kids in her neighborhood that are homeschooled and are depressed and socially isolated .

If you take your kids out and about everyone questions why they aren't "in school" during "school hours" and if parents keep them at home they are depriving them of human interaction It makes it tough for homeschoolers to win no matter what they do. But then again, who cares what other people think :

I tried calling in but couldn't get through. I had so many comments I didn't know where to start LOL

THey usually have the podcast up in a day or two for anyone that missed it and wants to hear it.

I listened to it on the web a little while ago and I'm sorry I did. All this call for regulations and the generally held belief that parents don't know what is best for their kids really rubbed me the wrong way. I am concerned about the way that conversation is going. I mean if our school systems were everything they should be an shining examples I might (probably not but might) see where they would want to offer opinions for homeschoolers but please, remove the plank before you mess with the splinter.
