My good friend, Jason is a Gulf War vet. He killed Iraqis with own hands on the orders of commanding officers. He did his duty. He is now staunchly anti-war but does not feel that he was personally responsible for those deaths. He signed the contract. He did his duty. Once you join the military, your job is to do as you are ordered. He says war is senseless and wrong but war happens. Do we try Jason for war crimes or thank him for doing his duty? Do we try Wesley Clark for doing his duty or do we thank him for doing his duty and look forward to the perspective he can bring to decisions about when and where we use our military? He's definitely got more experience in that area than a certain Commander in Chief I could mention.
Think about it. What kind of General does a half-assed job at prosecuting a war? A good one? I don't think so. Clark did his duty the best of his ability. I am sorry for every dead Yugoslavian but war is war. If you are in then you win it.
