Hey Moms
this must be the lonest 10 days for me! I had 4 embyros put in and now waiting to see what happends. I have four kids of my own from my first marriage. I'm only 39 and remarried 3 yrs ago and my husband has no children the pressure is on. Nothing wrong with him or me both perfect ???

hello Girls !!! how is every one doing ??? well i have another beta tommorow and then another one on thursday and then my first ultrasound is on sunday the 18th. we are very excited. i feel pretty good . my boobs hurt once in awhile but i can say that i am gtting stomach aches alot seems like everything i eat gives me indigestion and heartburn. but no throwing up or anything . hope all of you are doing well. my first beta was 278 the nurse said it was good lets see tommorow !!

well my et was yesterday (mon) and only 2 of the embryos made it to et. one was a 7 celled and one was a 6 celled. i am praying my little heart out that we get some positive news in 2 weeks. i am still resting today and may rest again tomorrow. not sure if it is actually helping or not, but i get a lot stomach cramping & pain when i have been moving around today so am not sure that i am ready to go back to work. everyone in my office thinks i am sick withe the stomach flu

well, that's great news! congratulations on your transfer of 2 beautiful embryos! i am on an ivf forum and i know of 2 women who transferred only one embryo, one of them a 2-cell on a 2day transfer, and the other a 6 cell on a 2 day transfer and they are BOTH pregnant, so... you're in the game, girl i took it easy for a few days, but i felt generally ok. the more rest you can get the better, especially when you have 'the stomache flu'

Hey Soulshine. I'm hanging in there, been really just lurking around a bit. DH and I took a much needed weekend away, and it was great! They told me they'd call in 3 -4 weeks (my RE was on vaca, then he was going to sit down with the other RE in the office and discuss my case and what to do) So, right now, just trying to forget about it for a little while, if that's possible. Had a strange spotting period over the weekend for a couple of days, so that was a bit annoying, and I'm afraid it will push my normal cycle back since it wasn't a full bleed... since we all know we can't start another cycle of IVF until AF rears her ugly head! I'll keep you all posted as I learn more.... Thanks so much to all for the great support!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey ladies how is everyone!! well i went yesturday for my second beta and it only went up about half from 273 to 380 i am really scared now any advice/?? could it be cause im only about 4 wks. im really nervous now . i go tommorow for the 3rd one . the doctor says that it didn't double but at least it is going up . ive had no pain no bleeding or anything . so thats good . please any input that can keep my mind at ease i would greatly appreciate!!

Kristin, my IVF twin - glad to hear those embies are back inside you - we've had incredibly similar cycles, which is even more remarkable considering the rare diagnosis - I sure hope we both get the same positive result in a couple of weeks - remember my first cycle was like this too. When is your beta?

marly, no cause for panic - the problem with successive betas is that you can actually get too much information to analyze. The numbers don't need to double exactly - just go up, so no biggie. I'm sure everything's fine. Will be thinking of you!

This is the boring part of the 2ww. Definitely too early to test (3dp3dt)! The prometrium is doing its worst - my boobs are sore, bloated, etc. I also have a wicked sore throat that I hope is hay fever rather than a cold! This is the first day I'm going to leave the house - I have cabin fever and looking forward to it!

it is crazy that i met you right after DH's CBAVD diagnosis and here we are doing this at practically the same time!! Crazy!! Our preggo test is 5/19, so yours must be 5/18 if your lab tests on sundays. Do you plan on testing early?
I think i prob will next sat or sun (i will be out of town though at a conference so not sure if that will be good timing in case doesn't come back positive).

And I am really getting sick of the progesterone, it is constantly leaking: GRoss!! And even though i am bloated, my boob aren't too sore yet. But i have def been battling a sore throat since i started the meds on fri. sinuses are draining too. I was thinking it was the meds b/c the sore throat started everytime i took the meds and then got better until i took them again?

Anyway i am resting again today. But back to work tomorrow. I am thinking about going in for acupuncture today. He wants to continue 1 time/week until preggo test and if positive throughout the first trimester to help prevent miscarriage.

So, with your first ivf, did you feel any symptoms of pregnancy or did you have the intuition that it worked??

Perdita and Kristin, welcome to the tortourous 2ww, I am in the midst of it at 5 days past 5 day retrieval. It sucks.

What sucks more is that I caved and POAS this morning with a BFN. I know it's early but I couldn't help myself and now I'm thinking my two embies didn't stick. To top it off, I don't really have any symptoms. I feel myself mentally spiraling down the rabbit hole...and I'm doing it to myself. Help!

Hey momma, keep your chin up...it is still too early to tell by preggo test. Hang in there and keep visualizing your embies dividing and implanting into their new cushie home

that's true... it doesn't need to double exactly. also, there is this phenomenon that happens in which both embryos implant, but then one stops growing, which makes the hcg drop and skew the levels of the other healthy embryo- disappearing twin syndrome or something like that. its so hard to wait for these betas and be totally reliant on their results. but your babe/s know what they are doing and it is out of our control! send them your love, and hope for the best... i am doing it for you too

i'm thinking of you all! my backside is starting to feel sore from the pio. if everything looks ok on friday, there will only be 3-4 more weeks of them, though... piece of cake!

goblue, step away from those evil hpt's!! it is so tempting, but why torture yourself? their readings won't change the fact that you will need a beta done, and that is the most conclusive result. it was so hard for me to wait, but i didn't want to be 'down' anymore than i had to... that rabbit hole sucks. you're in my thoughts! don't poas!! when you get tempted, send some lovin' to your babe and your self instead

My beta is on the 19th - they are open on the weekend but I think they like to keep traffic to a minimum. It's only one more day. I'm going to work from home that day and so will DH. So we'll be testing the same day - erk!

I doubt I'll test prior to the beta. I didn't last time. Not that I didn't want to know, but honestly, I wanted to maintain the fantasy right up to the last minute. They have a protocol at our clinic now that doctors call with negatives, nurses with positives. So I"ll know from the first sentence what the result is. Blech - my stomach's in a knot just thinking about it.

It looks like the sore throat might be strep (oh joy oh bliss). Looks like DD has Scarlet Fever, and this throat isn't a normal sore throat for me. The cultures come back tomorrow. Antibiotics if so because this is very contagious. Something to worry about once we know for sure.

Last cycle, I really couldn't tell anything before the beta. I knew that the progesterone could mimic symptoms so I wouldn't let myself get excited about anything. I did notice that I started feeling better the middle of the first week, only to feel tired again towards the beta, and in retrospect that'll be b/c of the pregnancy. But I didn't have any other symptoms for several more weeks.

goblue - the 2ww is so tough. The only thing tougher in terms of waiting, in my experience, was the wait after the beta till the heartbeat... LOL. Don't you worry about no symptoms. It's unlikely you would this early.
It's torture, but there's nothing you can do except keep yourself busy!

hello ladies !!! how is everyone doing ?? well im doing alot better today. apparently there was a confusion with my HCG values. the lab reported the estro values instead of the hcg one that is why it was so low. so the ne number is 1635 for the second one . so it went from 273 to 1635 a nice jump . I just the results for today and they are 4228. i am so happy . 1st ultra sound is on wed at 800 will you keep you all up dated

how brutal is that....you wouth think as sensitive an issue as these things are, the nureses would check and then double check before they report news like that: but i am so happy that things worked out for you maybe there is more than 1 in there...that is a big jump!!!

perdita...that is funny that we are testing on the same day....perdita, my ivf twin yeah and i get butterflies thinking about testing too and the phone call, whether or not it will bring good or bad news. i think i have it figured out that if the news is good, they call early and if it isn't good they call at the last minute possible. The nurse calls between 2-4 and all of the good reports i have gotten the call by 3 at the latest and the bad news calls i got all within like 10 minutes of 4. Not sure if that is how they intend to do it, but that is how it has all seem to work out. anyway i don't think i will be able to resist poas. although i will be away at a pediatric conference that weekend before my beta so might have a hard time keeping myself composed if it is nt good news...gosh i hate thinking about that.

but i found this hugely helpful for when i am doing imagery of the embryos:

3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
