Playmobil, iPod, K'Nex, Zoobs, drawing pads, Gameboy/DS, marbles, magnet sets, golf balls(sounds wierd but my kids can play with 10-12 golf balls for hours), watercoloring, cooking, matchbox cars.

If you have little ones at home, be careful about the magnetix toy. It's very popular at this age, but dangerous for babies and toddlers if swallowed.

sometimes i worry that i am too busy w/ my little guys and getting out of touch w/ my big guy.
i have never heard of snap circuits, but looked them up, and they seem right up our alley.
some suggestions reminded me of my 9yo's other interests, so i guess it only seems like we are in a sort of lego limbo!

Littlest Pet Shop (calls them bobble heads- we originally bought a set for dsd (8), but turns out ds loves them as well. They have been playing bobble heads literaly all day everyday.)

If I threw away every one of my boys toys besides his Legos, he would never even notice. He is also in Lego limbo. I think it's great though. What a great toy for imagination and building skills.

Taking pictures - a cheap digital camera with a screen on the back where they can SEE their pictures has kept many a little boy amused at my house

He's more an outside kid than anything else, which is why this extended winter is KILLING us...
