It's coming back..

I had ppd pretty badly from last summer to about December, when I got AF back. After AF started I felt SO much better, and that lasted a couple months. The last few weeks though... I can feel it creeping back in... I dont know why and it just sucks. I am really in a dark place the last week or two... not nearly as bad as it was but still a crappy way to live my life.

I just want to be better and be ok.

are you seeing a therapist? have you had your thyroid levels checked? if you haven't done these things, i wouldn't hesitate to do them now. you are right, it is a crappy way to live, and it doesn't have to be like this.

i have a may baby too. i've been getting treatment for ppd (therapy/medication) since he was 7 weeks old. i still have some bumps, dips, relapses...whatever you want to call them. but for the most part, i know i'm doing ok. i don't know where i would be today without treatment though.

i hope you can find some relief soon! you will be better and you will be ok. its just a matter of taking the steps to get there.

big hugs!

It sucks to have setbacks and relapses. It might help to consider that it's all a part of getting better. What are you doing now to take care of yourself? How did you cope last time? Did anything work/help you previously?

PPD is kind of like a river -- it carves a channel out and anytime you're a bit "off' it's easy for your mood to go sweeping down that channel again.

I've been in treatment more or less since my ds was born 6, nearly 7, years ago. (Not on meds the whole time, but for a surprisingly long time). I am just now considering going without meds again after dd was born 3 3/4 years ago. I'm going to wait until dd weans at age 4 (that's what she told me, and I'm holding her to it!) and then get stabilized in my health and moods and go off the last little bit of Paxil.

You will get better. You will feel like yourself again. But it takes time.

I may be able to help you with your depression. I'm an intuitive healer who specializes in emotional issues. I'm very compassionate and I will always respect your boundaries. The type of healing I do is very unique so check out my website for more information: www.moondragonhealing.com. I can do remote healing as well, by the way.
