Introduce Yourself! - Page 5

new

hi all!

i sort of introduced myself in the "have you told anyone yet" thread, but i guess this is more appropriate.

so, hi! I have never joined one of these before. i also am not sure how far along i am, but i am guessing 5-6 weeks-ish. i had a miscarriage at the beginning of march with a not planned pregnancy and got pregnant pretty much right away after that. me an my partner are very nervous at this point and just trying to go with the flow. i am also a student midwife, so i'm analyzing any little thing. i have completed all my training and when i get home to Toronto, I will hopefully begin practicing next year. Currently, we are in the Philippines (my partner had a job offer that he took and i am volunteering with a group of midwives). I go back to Toronto in May after officially graduating midwifery school. whew!

so if anyone has any questions whatsoever, plz feel free to ask. we are definitely planning on homebirthing even though we dont have a home yet in Toronto.

i am really glad i have found you all. thank you.

peace and blessings,
kel

Just found out that I'm due with baby #3 in mid-December (I'm still in shock). I had one miscarriage and two beautiful boys (Jan 2005 and Feb 2007). I live in the Pacific Northwest.

Just found out today that i'm pregnant with our second. Yay! And total shock, of course.

I am still nursing my 19-month-old, so I had not had AF yet, so I am not exactly sure of the date, but I think "sometime in December" covers it. I actually started charting 17 days ago to figure out when I would ovulate, and I was very confused by the lack of any temperature spikes at all, so I had an NFP friend look at it today, and... well... it was a very strong red line! I'm getting over a cold and thought all the nausea and exhaustion and lack of interest in non-beige foods was part of the mucus and congestion, but it's something else entirely!

As for me, i'm an artist and stay-at-home mom. I started selling my work on Etsy back in February, and I have a show coming up in January at a local arts center, which is kind of funny, since my last solo exhibition was when I had just become pregnant with Cleo. Guess I won't be hanging it myself come January, huh? My last birth was a surprise breech with a midwife and doula, so I've joined ICAN and am ready to VBAC! I also love babywearing and am active in our local KoalaMommas group. I live for my Beco!

I still hang out with my DDC from my first child on another board, so I'm glad to meet a new crew of folks and grow our babies together.

Hello! I got my BFP on April 10th. I believe I am five weeks along and according to online calculators I'm due either December 15th or 18th. This is our first! I live in Rhode Island and I am a high school art teacher. My DH just finished his masters in elementary and special education, so he'll be interviewing for jobs this summer. Until then he's subbing. I'm excited to get to know you all within the next eight months!

Hi everyone!

I'm Amanda, mom to DS who turned 5 in March and DD who will be 3 in July. I am a SAHM and we live in Missouri. This is my fourth pregnancy; I had a M/C in September of last year at 6 weeks. We thought we were probably done after that but apparently we're not. We're thrilled!

DS was born in a hospital, a pretty sucky experience. DD was born unassisted, which was just awesome. So this baby will (hopefully) be born unassisted as well.

Candy, so sorry about the loss of your little one.

Piper, we love Eureka Springs! DH and I got married there. I'd love to live in those woods, soooo pretty.

Oh, I think I'm about 4.5 weeks...so due mid to late December I guess.

howdy mamas!

i'm blair and pregnant with #2, due sometime around december 18th. we have a 20mo named isabel. i will be having a c-sec this time around (long story, but i am high risk now and there are no vbacs allowed in the area, especially with my history). but, none the less, i look forward to getting to know you all and enjoying being pregnant again!

i am a wahm with a business making handmade baby clothes (see siggy), which turned into a full time job pretty quickly! oh, along with being a mom of course

we live in the mtns of wyoming.

Hi I'm Jordana, tentatively here but hoping to stay. I had a DnC in January for a blighted ovum in my 9th week. I didn't think I'd get pregnant so quickly, and I have some health issues going on of which I don't know the cause yet, so I just don't know if this baby is going to stick. So far I'm feeling good, but I just won't rest easy until the end of my first trimester. By my own calculations, I think I'm due around December 5th.

I am married and have a 3.5 year old son named Evan. He has type 1 diabetes which has been a challenge but manageable. I work full time as a teacher and my husband stays home with Evan and works evenings.

I'm glad to be here with all of you! I hope I get to stick around a long while!

I am Jennifer, and I am due in December, probably around the 3rd. I have PCOS, and as a result, ended up resorting to fertility drugs and acupuncture (after TTC with various alternative treatments for almost three years). We have one ds, who is five. He was also conceived with fertility meds, also after trying alternatives like acupuncture for a long long time. My DH and I have been married almost 11 years, and have been together for almost 14.

Expecting in Late December

Hello, my DH and I have just learned we were pregnant last week with baby #1. We are so excited; I was told I may not be able to conceive without assistance. We live in MS, so our resources are limited in regards to midwife choices and natural parenting. I am so thankful I found a place like Mothering to finally feel normal.

I am an anthropologist with a specialty in archaeology; my Dh is in the military. We have three dogs and a one cat. We are planning a homebirth and to cosleep and breastfeed of course.

Hi mamas!

I'm Kelley, growing #1 and "due" December 21, and 6 weeks on Thursday. Here's hoping we stick around! My abdomen is kind of achey and I'm nauseous sometimes, as well as feeling like no one should touch my breasts because they're so sore, but so far this has been totally wonderful...

My husband-to-be is a professor of theatre, while I'm working on a degree in anthropology (speciality in evolutionary biology.). We've got two cats already, and are adopting an ex-racing greyhound who is arriving on Saturday.

So excited to be on this journey with all of you!

Hi, my name is Ann and I have 2 beautiful daughters who are 3 and 5. This baby is a complete surprise, but very welcomed. I think it is going to take DH a little while to get excited but I know he will come around in time. I am in total shock at this point, trying to wrap my head around all the decisions - home or hospital, cloth or sposies, tandem or wean? I look forward to figuring it all out with like minded people who won't tell me to go get my ERCS, buy the sposies and wean that girl NOW for heavens sake!

ETA Technically my "due date" is Christmas Day, but I would be willing to bet a fair amount that this will be a 2009 baby.

Hi, I'm tentatively joining you all! My partner and I have a daughter who's 5, and have just found out we are pregnant again, after a kind of long haul of ttc--particularly since our donor lives on the other side of the country, so it's super logistically complicated! I had a 12 week m/c a year and a half ago, and so I'm a little nervous to join a ddc so early--we are due 12/20. I just got my second beta from our RE, though, and it looked good, so that was very exciting.

Hiya, I'm Julia and I'm marinating a hopefully sticky baby #1 (pregnancy #2 ). We just bought our first house in Quebec and I'd love to have a homebirth but unfortunately health care is a little tricky for me up here : So far our family consists of us and a pair of rowdy dogs.

I'm an anthropologist by schooling but aspiring to WAHMism as soon as I figure out what I'm going to do!

My EDD according to ovulation/conception is Dec 13th!! Can't wait to get to know all of you!

I'm here, I'm here, I'm here!!!!!!

Sooooo excited. We were fearful that this babe was ectopic, but as it turns out, I just had an ovarian cyst that burst (explains the pain). Beta's increrased nicely. We've also had a loss in the past, and I'm nervous about another. However, we're trying to just enjoy this amazing little bean. What will happen, will happen, hey?

I'm so glad to be here with you all.

edd is December 22. Merry Christmas!

Katia

My name is Kristi I'm 28, mom to Luke 7 and Lily 15 mos. I'm married to Mark and we found out we were pregnant about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It's been a total shock, this wasn't planned so we are still getting used to the idea. I'm still bf'ing Lily so my dates have been a little off I thought I was 6 weeks today but I just got back from an ultrasound which measured me at a perfect 5 weeks on the dot. So wow I must have found out super early! All of this now makes sense to me because all of my hcg #'s last week were low and I always run crazy high when I'm pg. Also if I was 6 weeks I should technically be sick right now, I had hg with both of my pregnancies, hence the reason we weren't planning another. But I'm not, so I figure now I have another week to go but keeping my fingers crossed that this one will be different! Other than that my due date is December 16. So here's to an unsick pregnancy and congrats to all of the other December moms!

Hi all, I'm Sarah and we're expecting our 2nd around 10th/11th December according to my m/w. I'm planning for a homebirth and hoping that all turns out well and goes how we'd like it (although with labor, you never know ) Having some really horrible m/s. Yuck! Can't wait for it to be over.
We have a 2 year old little munchkin and so happy that he's going to be a big brother. We were trying for 10 months for this little one and had a m/c early January. Still aching a little for him/her but I know that he/she is safe now

Congratulations to all
