so my situation is quite unique but the short version is I have been home since January. I have done absolutely everything under the sun I can think of to prepare for baby and even extra stuff like make baby a blanket and finish the scrap book... I still have like another 10 days to go and I am SO bored. Any unique ideas? Nursery is done, cleaning is done, organizing is done, everything is done. Im a bit short on money so I need cheap ideas plus I dont really like walking a lot nowadays... it just hurts too much... I have SPD. But throw ideas my way, it cant hurt.

I don't know what to tell you... Last time when I had finished everything I could think to do, I spent my days following my cat around with a sticky lint roller to get every. single. hair. up off the furniture and bed and stuff.
I know.
Maybe try journalling or writing out some birth announcements (the parts you can fill in?) or preparing some thank you cards or just doing some relaxation exercises or something that can help with your spd? I feel like I'm no help. Sorry.

uhm.. come to my house?
I'm still working full time - if I can keep the kitchen from molding I feel quite proud of myself.
Are you CDing? Maybe add some cloth wipes out of spare fabric? Sew a Moby wrap from a jersey sheet?
Get some books out of the library?

is it spring-like weather where you are? if it were me, i'd probably get some good books from the library and spend some time sitting in the park and reading. of course, reading in a comfy chair at home works too
reading is one thing i don't get to do nearly as often since having kids. when i do squeeze in time to read it's often non-fiction (like a book on parenting, or gardening, or yoga). i very rarely get to read just for pleasure anymore.
i'm big on spending time in nature, personally. i'd go for a hike, but i know you said walking hurts, so maybe just finding someplace outdoors and sitting and soaking up the beauty of nature for while. whether it's the woods or a river, the ocean or the desert... just sit enjoy the peace and quiet. it's something i don't get to do a lot, enjoy the quiet of nature, since i usually have noisy little ones with me
this won't take up a lot of time, but have you been to a La Leche League meeting yet? are there any babywearing meetings near you? identifying those local support groups and resources ahead of time will be time well spent, and will give you an opportunity to meet other new mamas too. and it'll get ya out of the house, which is always a plus!
now's also a good time to treat yourself - i know money is an issue (it is here too). but maybe have a girlfriend over for a night of pampering? give each other pedicures, put mud masks on your face or do a hot oil treatment on your hair, make dinner, watch a movie. maybe if you can, spring for a haircut?
i also love the idea of journaling. sometimes there are emotions that hinder us from going into labor. getting it all out (and i know you've been through a lot lately!) might help you release some baggage and allow you to feel more ready.

I've been bored the past week or so, too. My knitting is no longer holding my interest, so I've been spending time shopping the thrift and consignment stores for cheap baby clothes and I also just picked up a stack of used books to read at goodwill. Not free, but at least inexpensive... I should have gone to the library, but I didn't want to deal with overdue books if I went into labor before I could get them back. Just me being silly, but I hate having overdue books hanging over my head! My brain must have been craving a book, because I've already read my way through one of them!
I also just sewed up a bundle of family cloth for myself this morning. All this pregnancy peeing has me going through my stash rather quick
The puzzle is a good idea though. I was just eyeing one this morning that I haven't worked yet...

LOL some of your suggestions/ stories were quite funny... I can relate to chasing the hair balls floating around my home... I have 3 very fluffy dogs!! ive done the reading the books I wanted to read... journaling...well I sort of do that. I do it on my blog though. Im just bored to death... honestly... its like the most exciting part of my day is eating and sleeping.. I know SO LAME. Well keep the ideas coming mamas!

Go to a movie by yourself.
Go out for dessert (cheaper than a meal).
Go for a drive somewhere scenic. (Or do what I do and have your DH chauffeur you.
)
Work on the baby book.
Flip through the magazines at the library.
Check out a bunch of movies from the library and have a movie marathon.
Cook some meals for your freezer.
Arrange to go out with a friend.

I went to the library and got movies to watch and things to read (and discovered cool new books and magazines!) Plus, my house is absolutely cat hair-free from twice daily cleanings (I've even moved the cats so I could clean underneath them). I'm snacking too much. I unpacked the lonely little last box from our move 2 years ago. I go for walks (yesterday's was 5 miles!), but today is cold, rainy, and dark, and I can't bring myself to do it. And I check this website too often.
Waiting to be busy is very agonizing.

Damn, I'm sorry. Usually I'm inclusive-minded enough to at least say DP instead of DH, but that wouldn't have even helped in this situation. I'm sorry that I forgot. I have a hard time keeping track of everyone in the DDC.

I'll be right there in the boredom category starting a week from Sunday, but I won't even be in my own home.Side note for all the bored mamas: I have some books that I was going to sell as "free for shipping," but I'd even be willing to cover shipping for an appropriately bored MDC DDC mama. I'll bring a list of what I have at home tomorrow.
thanks ok it doesnt bug me... the only one that should be sorry is that loser STBX but thats another story! lol! I just want this baby OUT like yesterday!! Im trying to do stuff to get things going like eating spicy food, taking rrtl, nipple stimulation, walking, sitting on my birth ball and move around and bounce a little but I cant seem to make a difference. Ive been having a lot of BH contractions though... last week at my appointment i was 1 cm.... for some reason Im fearing maybe im going backwards here... is it possible for me to "close" up again and not be dilated at all? maybe Im just being retarded...
I thought i would post that Ive been SO bored I decided to RE, RE, RE, RE clean the house... isnt my life exciting?

Hey Lady,
We've been in touch off and on. I work in your hood at 1855 N Main Street, come visit me! I will treat you to lunch at Homegirl Cafe!
Other time filler recommendations: Go to the Pump Station (Hollywood or Santa Monica location) they have a free breastfeeding class and free babywearing class. I have the details, i think you still have my personal email so send me a message for more details.
