Baby Peter

Thread Starter
was born in my bedroom this morning at 11:15, with an arm next to his head!

Some of you probably read my depressed post from yesterday, about how I cried all the way home from my dr. appointment because I wasn't dilated or anything...
woke up at 1:30 with contractions that were just...different. I tried my best to rest between them--they were about 10 minutes apart. I got out of bed a little before 5, and things really started to pick up. I spent some time in the bath, which didn't slow things down at all. Called the Dr. at 8-ish, and he arrived around 9, and I was about 6 cm. I spent the next two hours in the tub, pretty much, and spent a looooooong time transitioning. That was hard.

Different from my first birth, I actually felt strong urges to push--which was a huge relief. Not that I enjoyed it, but I was able to do it so much more effectively, and it really only took a handful of pushes to get him out. 8lbs exactly--almost two pounds bigger than his big brother. He's handsome as can be! Will post pictures later.

Cervical checks mean nothing! Labor *does* happen! I'm in love!!!!

I had a long reply typed out to you yesterday and I lost it before I hit send. You sounded so much like me the day before I delivered. It doesn't surprise me that you holding baby Peter today!

Congratulations! When I read your post yesterday it really sounded to me like you were headed into labor but I didn't want to give you false hope... woulda been rather defeating and more depressing if it hadn't been true, yk! I'm so happy that your little one is here now Enjoy your babymoon!

The day before I went into labor I had my 39w appt where my midwife made me an appt for the following week - she said my cervix had a long way to go!
