was born in my bedroom this morning at 11:15, with an arm next to his head!
Some of you probably read my depressed post from yesterday, about how I cried all the way home from my dr. appointment because I wasn't dilated or anything...
woke up at 1:30 with contractions that were just...different. I tried my best to rest between them--they were about 10 minutes apart. I got out of bed a little before 5, and things really started to pick up. I spent some time in the bath, which didn't slow things down at all. Called the Dr. at 8-ish, and he arrived around 9, and I was about 6 cm. I spent the next two hours in the tub, pretty much, and spent a looooooong time transitioning. That was hard.
Different from my first birth, I actually felt strong urges to push--which was a huge relief. Not that I enjoyed it, but I was able to do it so much more effectively, and it really only took a handful of pushes to get him out. 8lbs exactly--almost two pounds bigger than his big brother. He's handsome as can be! Will post pictures later.
Cervical checks mean nothing! Labor *does* happen! I'm in love!!!!
