PPD herbal supplement advice please

I've been asked to look into herbal helpers for ppd for a mama. Any ideas?

I've suggested Rescue Remedy for a part-time fix, and suggested she see her caregiver, but she'd like to know what her options are.

Thanks!!

small frequent meals, no simple sugars sodas or caffeine, B vitamin supplements, magnesium, possibly some amino acid supplements, rule out low/borderline thyroid issues, social support for transitioning into parenthood, consider use of St John'swort, aroma therapy,movement/exercise

Has she already had her baby, or is she currently pregnant? If the latter, I would present the idea (gently--some people are really squicked out about this) of eating her placenta or having it dried and put into capsules to take as needed.

Fish oil can be helpful for moods as well. It is the omega-3 fatty acids that are so great, so it can be taken from other sources as well, but fish oil just seems so easy for the body to use that I have heard many women say that worked much better than any other source.

eating enough protein and drinking enough water can be helpful as well.
