Tin Cans?

Okay, so I'm a complete moron and I don't even know... are canned goods in tin cans? I just want to double check before I throw my soup cans in the recycle bin.

Are they tin?

Yes, they are all steel (tin).

If in doubt you can see if a magnet sticks to it. Magnets stick to any ferrous metal. Anything that has iron in it is a ferrous metal.

If it doesn't stick, it's most liekly non-ferrous metal like alumin, brass, copper, lead, gold, silver, etc.
