LTK Wool Soakers

Which is your favourite?

My guys wore ones that I made using a pattern similar to the 'undersoaker' pattern. Now there are so many other options to choose from. I'm knitting a couple for a shower gift for a friend but am wondering which everyone finds works the best. Also, does it matter what kind of diaper is worn underneath? She's not sure yet if she's going to go with a fitted diaper or a prefold.

Diaper type really only matters if you are going to trifold. You can't trifold in a pull on style cover it has to be something that fastens because the diaper doesn't stay close enough on baby loose in the cover. Otherwise it doesn't really matter. I put soakers on over my pocket diapers .

I have a question about the soakers/diapers, too. We're still TTC #1 but I am starting to think about making a small stash of diapering supplies so I don't feel overwhelmed during pregnancy. I am just starting to look into the types of diapers you can make, and I guess what I'm looking at is something fitted (like with velcro or snaps). I was thinking about AIOs but I'd rather not use PUL because I know for me, synthetic materials in that area make me feel sweaty and icky. I imagine it would be the same for a baby.
So, could I make some sort of fleece/flannel shaped diaper with snaps and then put a wool soaker over it in place of a PUL layer?

You just need to be able to wash them separately - they need to be cared for in completely different ways. And you could have several cloth liners for each wool outer layer, since you could reuse the outer layer repeatedly.
I have some SugarPeas which I adore; that sounds to me sort of what you are talking about....
