Sorry for being away for awhile. I've been busy
After four (yes, FOUR!) full days of laboring at home, the midwives had the blankets warming in the oven and the shephard's purse tea brewing on the stove in anticipation that I would be meeting my baby any minute. However due to leaking waters (always clear), and an anterior lip that would not fully dilate my homebirth plans changed and I transported to the hospital. I know it was the right decision though and have no regrets about that. Plus, the outcome was marvelous.
Our baby boy, Karma Eli, was born on March 22 at 38w1d weighing 6lb15oz and 20 inches long.
We are home now, doing well, and he is off to a great start with nursing. At some point I hope to get around to a longer birth story but wanted to at least share the vital stats. Good luck to all the rest of the April mommas with your babies still to come!!
