What to do? What to do?

I'm making a friend a skirtie. Or was. I started it and it was turning out horrendously. Not sure what happened so I frogged the skirt portion leaving a soaker with a random purl round. I've decided to not do a skirtie and instead do a soaker with a bit of oomph. What should/could I do with this random purl row though!? It's obviously there and looks not quite out of place but not quite "together". I'd like to somehow incorprate it into the butt design (caterpiller) but not sure how.

could you go back and dup stitch or embroider some sort of geometric design on it?

something like this - using the purl row to divide the design?

Hmmm...I could try. I never thought about that. I'm dup. stitching the caterpillar so I don't see why not. I could make it a border of sorts with the purl row acting as a "center dot" on it!

Thanks! I was stuck on making the actual purl bumps something else. Never occured to me to keep them as is and incorprate them into it.

I'd try duplicate stitching over it. Failing that, I'd do a repeating pattern of caterpillars all the way around (with the purl row where the feet would be) duplicate stitch between the caterpillars and put a leaf or an apple on the bum.

since it's for a girl (I'm assuming you weren't making a skirtie for a boy, though I might be wrong, LOL!) I'd do something like a little crocheted daisy chain and then stitch it on over the purl row

Where is the purl row relative to the booty (top? bottom?)?

Could it be the ground and then you could grow some flowers up from it? Could it be the sky somehow?

I'm guessing you don't want to drop all those stitches back and turn them into knit stitches, huh?

How about a vine with flowers?

I was actually thinking about trying the same thing (winging a skirty out of a shorties pattern) but I think I won't now. I'm not so good at winging things

Don't be afraid to try it. I just did one for DD2 and it turned out fantastic. I think it's the yarn I picked, the soaker pattern, my alterations to the pattern....just a myriad of things.

I think I have an idea of what to do with it. Thanks for you help ladies!
