I have an old Jetta that I am considering getting an electric kit for to convert it... but at the same time with our growing family I am looking at larger cars to be able to carry everyone around (right now I have a Scion xB which works fine for two kids).
I have a few friends with electric vans that seem to love them and I have seriously considered something like this for our family.
The downside is that quite honestly, I dont have experience with an electric van so I dont know what mileage would be like on those. I do have experience with cars and such. My friends that have them dont have children and they dont do any "family outings" or stuff like that... we do all of the time. So their usage does not compare with what ours will be. One of my friends drives 5 miles a day. I drive more than that one way to work.
