Can I use a S/S doggie dish for my LOs?

I know that sounds really wrong, but the only stainless steel bowls I can find are in the pet food section. Is there a difference in stainless steel for humans vs. animals? Is it the same stuff sold for cheaper? I really want to replace my plastic children's bowls with something safer, and these are perfect... other than the "doggie dish" sticker on the back.

BTW, I can't find wood or enamel dishes anywhere, either, unless I order them online.: I've been looking for months!

We have a couple of doggie bowls in our kitchen cabinet, I never really thought if they were the same or not, hopefully someone knows for certain.

Is there a restaraunt supply place in your area? They should have lots of SS stuff.

For enamel, have you tried looking at camp stores?

Only place for wood around here is the big box place and I question buying anything there and a local artist gallery, but they are way way way expensive there.

I doubt there is a difference, but you should be able to find stainless steal mixing bowls quite inexpensively, even in thrift stores

This is what I was going to suggest. These places usually are pretty reasonably priced, too.

The .99 cent store in our area also always has little stainless steel bowls in just the right size for a cereal bowl or whatever.

I'd imagine that anything sold for pet food use has to be "food grade" so as to not poison our furry companions! I don't see why it would be a problem for humans to eat out of them.

I don't think it would be a problem, but I have ss bowls from camping. Also, check out:

We've used pet bowls for a few years now as our camping stuff. We've not had any problems, I don't see why day to day use would be any different.

They do get VERY hot if you put hot food in them though but I guess that would be the same for any metal plates.
