anyone have any luck with the "sew easy" knitting machine?

I'm thinking of buying this to help me make quick tubes, then take it off the machine so I can do some detailing. Does this work? Has anyone tried it?

I bought it with intentions of making tubes for draft dodgers or even scares to stashbust. Unfortunately, the fabric it makes is very hole-y. It suggest eyelash yarn and I think it is so you can't see how loose the stitches are. I don't reccomend it.
