What can I use to get rid of mold on the caulking around my tub?

It's starting to look ... umm, well, gross.

Hydrogen Peroxide works on mold, however I have never tried it on caulking. You can always scrape off the caulking and re-caulk. It is pretty easy.

I thought I read that vinegar works. But I could be confusing that with something else!

We had that problem before we redid out bathroom and I couldn't get anything to work but bleach Something about the texture of the caulking I guess - it just gets embedded in there.

I'd certainly give other things a try if you haven't just in case, but I tried borax, vinegar/baking soda, peroxide, TTO, bon ami, even a bleach pen wasn't enough - and a lot of soaking and elbow grease with each cleaner, but none of them would make it go away I am NOT a huge fan of bleach by the way - I use it very sparingly, but I've just found there are a few situations that really kind of need it.

Those things have worked for me in other places, but just not around the tub.

Hopefully you will have a different outcome though and you can come back and say so!!!

When mine gets moldy, sort of an interior-to-the-caulk mold, I pull out the old caulk with a putty knife and recaulk. Works like a charm. I do it about every 2 years.

Option: wandering around the house with a holstered caulk gun asking "Who wants to see my caulk?"

Re-caulking certainly does look nice, but I've also found that the Chlorox bleach pen (they marke tit for clothes, I think) works GREAT! Just "write" a stripe on the caulk and leave it for 30-60 minutes, then wipe off. I'm not a big fan of bleach, but the fumes from fresh caulk bother me just as much, and this is a lot simpler.
