28th: (gas only)
29th:
30th:
31: : Spent 60$ on groceries (Staples like honey, flour and yeast so $$)
and PG test....
1:
2: Drove, but no spending. - Dinner at the ILs so worth the trip
3: Preemptive : We're doing chick-fil-a - Bad week!

Goals from now to 4/20
4/21 no non-work driving days
5/20 no spend days (excludes gas due to traveling DH this month)
Non gas budget: 60/70
Gas budget: 184/380
4/10 loads dried on the line

I'm giving in...Chick-Fil-A for lunch/mid afternoon meal today. DS is driving me nuts, I'm newly PG, and my DH just got told he's working his 8th 11 hour overnight shift in a row (With a 3 hour commute total), which means I get to do his 4 am paper route for yet another day I will come in under 10$ and will spend at least an hour letting DS run wild so as to feel it was worth it On a good note, the extra work means an extra 200$ + to debt...Even figuring in my chick-fil-a

No spend challenge!
4/1~ Spent nothing
4/2~ Responsible spending: $21.49 pooper-scooper, $23.34 grocery store
4/3~ Spent nothing

Goals:
2/15 Days no spending at ALL
3/30 Days no frivolous spending on self
0/3 No Drive days

A bit early reporting but I'm heading to work in an hour and after tallying my fancy-coffee-drink-at-work total (we have a coffee shop in the store) I realized I've worked over 60 hours this year for those drinks alone!!!! So, I'm only permitting one latte (or whatever) each week, on Friday nights. So, no spending at work tonight for sure!

Congratulations, Kerri!

01: $134 groceries/household stuff - within budget but more than I meant to spend IYKWIM. However, I did get some PP pads, some labour drinks and a bit of extra meat to make PP meals for the freezer, so I got a lot of my money. DH spent $1 at work on a chocolate bar!
02: No spend!!! DH spent a tiny bit at work but this isn't his challenge....
03: DH spent $7 on playing football plus $1.5 on a drink afterwards. The weather was glorious so I took DS1 and DS2 to the park after school. I had packed snacks but DS1 accidentally dropped his and spilled them everywhere so I ended up with a $2 spend at the store for replacements.......

Tomorrow should be a no spend, fingers crossed!

Not a good start to the month. I'm trying to cut down on groceries this month and I'm not doing very well so far.

WARNING- RANT AHEAD:
I also feel like a Scrooge, the kids keep coming home with things to buy from school. I hate to say no and disappoint them, but if I bought everything *this* month, it would add up to about $200! Between school pictures ($40 each), school T-shirts/sweatshirts ($12-25 each), minimum "donations" ($5 each for the latest fundraiser), buying milk/juice for snack time, plus the upcoming school carnival (another fundraiser), I'm feeling tapped out. I understand that schools need money to operate and that if we want our kids to have extras, it needs to be paid for. But it feels like this is just over the top, like we're constantly being assaulted. I just hate feeling like the bad mom if I don't buy my kids' school pictures or buy them a Tshirt.

April 1: budgeted spending: $16.21 groceries, $22.35 school lunches/juice for April
April 2: budgeted spending: $11.39 lunch out, $48.10 gas, $15.65 dollar store
April 3: budgeted spending: $$17.26 Dollar Store, $94.85 grocery store, $11.99 Bakery Outlet

My goals for April:
0/15 true no-spend days
0/5 no drive days
2/less than 15 days driving more than 50 miles in a day
$213.77/$400 groceries
$45.91/$200 household/misc.
$98.59/$250 gas
$11.39/$130 eating out/take out/entertainment
0/1000 minutes on the treadmill
0/20 items sold

4/1: Dinner $15
4/2:
4/3: Gas $25 /Groceries $307.88 /Newspaper $.53 /Clippers $40 /Pet $11 / Seeds $9 /Tupperware $14 /Shoes for DS $12 /Toy for kids $17

Can you tell I went to Target today?? But, the Tupperware is to house the fresh baked bread I'm making and the leftovers we're eating (instead of using ziplock bags), the clippers are to eliminate the barber shop for the boys, the toy was b/c we were in Target for god's sake!!, and the rest was household/food/etc.

And I stopped and got gas and bought seeds and a paper to consolodate my spending days! Shouldn't need to buy anything until Sunday's paper for coupons.

My key:

No spend
Budget spend
Over spend

Groceries $307.88/$650
Pet $11/$100
Eat-Out $15/$20
Misc. $83.53/$100
Garden $9/$50

Apr 2 -- Groceries: $51, Post Office: $31, Linens & Things: $15
Apr 3 --

So, I was debating today whether or not to include DH's spending in this challenge. I decided not to. Obviously, his spending will count in regards to the budget, but this no spend is my own personal thing. On that note -- no spend! I was at work, and while the vending machine called my name, I just said no!

-- No Spend
-- Spend within Budget
: -- Unplanned/Unbudgeted Spending

2/30 -- No Spend
1/30 -- Budget Spend
0/30 -- Non Budget Spend

Week 1 -- 27 miles/100 miles

Long day today. Worked and then two tutoring jobs. Not scheduled to work tomorrow yet but I may get another early morning phone call. Going to have to set aside some money for the dentist this month, found a cavity that's pretty bad.

Yesterday had its high and low points spending-wise; today was all good.

April 1:
April 2: parking ticket (not in budget, but not frivolous either - was waiting to testify against an anti-homeschooling bill; the hearing ran 3+ hours and all the meters are just 2 hrs; did not want to run out to feed the meter and miss being called) + big huge whoops library fine (have GOT to get on a regular library schedule - at $1/day on many items (DVDs/VHS) that only go out for 7 days, these are getting ridiculous. Contemplating picking up a half dozen more kid movies from Goodwill and skipping movie getting at the library for awhile; will spend far less to purchase at $3/pop than I have been averaging in late fees. Good spending news is we brought a full dinner to share with in-laws and did not run out to buy anything extra.
April 3:

GOALS:
* Less than $50 in frivolous spending: month to date $17
* At least 25 days (no spend or spending w/in budget): 2/25
* Pack snacks/water for outings: 3/30
* NO library fines: month to date $12
* Stay within grocery/eating out budget: $142.08/$500
* ORGANIZE/declutter (lack of organization = spending): 3/25
* Exercise (feeling good = decreased emotional spending): 3/25
* Items posted for sale on internet: 0/10
* Meal plan created: 0.25/4 weeks

Ok so I started out the month with a big unbugeted spend but it will be worth it in the end.

4/1 $60 on triple A baseball tix to take my brother, nephew son, daughter and mom to a baseball game this summer

4/2 no spend
4/3 no spend

so far so good!

I had such a bizarre dream last night! The car broke down and it was going to cost $199 to fix. I was so bummed and I thought, "oh, great now I have to post unplanned spending on the No-spending thread!" I was going to use the irked smilie.

4/01 - DH drives to work (boo!) + grocery spending (in budget)
4/02 - grocery spending
4/03 - No-drive, No-spend!

Here's hoping everyone's cars stay runnin'!
