Well I figured since there was a IVF thread we should have an April IUI thread!

APRIL IUI'S

Aly22681: Follistim and trying naturally this month while decided whether to move on to IVF.

biomama: Non-medicated double IUI cycle.

kristenok18: 5mg femara cd5-9 with hcg trigger. Trying it natural this month with preseed after cancelled IUI.

LiamsMommy31905: 100mg Clomid, HCG Trigger, u/s 4/4 with possible IUI on 4/7 or 4/8.

poetgirl: Waiting to start clomid for first IUI cycle.

rubidoux: 225iu's gonal-f cd3-9, 2 follies 19 and 20mm, HCG trigger evening of cd10, iui's the next 3 mornings on 4/4, 4/5, 4/6, pg test scheduled for 4/18.

someday_a_rainbow: 150 mg Clomid, First IUI, HCG Trigger, 5 follicles. IUI 3/29, Sperm 45 mil.

snowbell: 50mg Clomid, IUI 4/14

We are doing our 2nd IUI on Monday morning, about 36hrs after the trigger. I'm giving myself the trigger shot, so I guess the timing is up to me! I took 5mg femara cd5-9, and had two nice follies today during my u/s today!

I'm starting my first iui cycle. I'm at cd5 now and taking gonal-f injections. I go in for my first u/s to check on how the gonal-f is doing on tuesday. I'm on pins and needles!

I'm starting my 2nd IUI cycle tomorrow at CD 3...100 mg Clomid CDs 3-7. I overstimulated (6 mature follicles) on 100 mg last cycle so they are having me in for a follicle check via ultrasound on Friday with a trigger Saturday or Sunday (as long as I don't overstimulate again.) Hopefully we'll be on track for a Mon or Tues IUI the following week.

Yay, I remember how nervous I was last month for my first IUI, now I've had 3 (2 this cycle) and I feel like an Old PRO!! Hopefully you wont have to a second IUI, and this will end up in a BFP!!!

Oh I hope you dont overstimulate and your able to actually DO your IUI this month! wow, cd 8 is early for an u/s , hopefully they can catch a few eggies in time before the rest of them have time to catch up.

Dh is going in at 8 tomorrow am, and my appt is at 11:30. I'm sort of afraid we've missed it, since I had a super dark surge line yesterday morning. I still gave myself the trigger shot last night, and I'm praying the IUI isn't too late to catch the eggs. I had to do the shot during the earth-out hour, since I flaked and forgot about it until we were sitting in darknees....had to cheat for a few minutes!

We're not telling anyone IRL about this, so please send lots of positive thoughts our way (I really regretted that so many of our family/friends knew about our first IUI, and I didn't want to be put in that position again).

I definitly understand what you mean about not telling people about the IUI. I too told EVERYONE about the first one we did last month, well EXACTLY 2 weeks after my IUI, I got a BIZILLION phone calls "are you pregnant??" I wanted to cry when I had to tell everyone NO!! It was like I was letting all of them down. Its bad enough that I have to look at DH and tell him it didnt work, honestly sometimes I wish I could do an IUI with out even DH knowing just so I wouldnt have to tell him it was a BFN...HAHA, although that might be a little difficult.

Well, the universe apparently hates us. There was a mix-up in communication, and instead of going to the obgyn office with his sample, dh took it to the lab. He assumed they were expecting him (since I told him they were, but I was referring to the obgyn office), and didn't explicitly tell them what he was there for. The lab mistakenly processed the sample as an SA. So no iui today. Part of me wants to laugh at how ridiculous this all is, that after more than 3.5yrs we are still getting things wrong, but part of me wants to cry. Another cycle wasted, another month gone by. Crud.

that's terrible! ugh! i have been feeling like there's so much room for that kind of thing in this process. i am constantly feeling like there's something i was supposed to do that i have forgotten about. i'm sorry!

I'm on board to join y'all. DH and I have been trying for 17 cycles. He has a normal sp. count, I have low progesterone, early ovulation and a hypothalamus disorder. Fun. Also, just had a polyp removed which took four months to get rid of through 3 surgeries so...we haven't been able to try as much as we'd have liked in 2008. So we've decided to add the IUI to my taking Clomid. Right now I'm about 9 dpo on a surgery cycle (so no bd). I'll start my Clomid day 2 of the next cycle.

Kristen, I'm really sorry about what happened. The orchestration of all this is so confusing. I can totally see how that happened, but it sounds soooo disappointing. When DH got his SA done, he couldn't get anyone to take it for like 20 min. He was standing there going "They're dying, man!" I hope you did get some good bding in there to catch your trigger shot. GL.

Liam'smommy, I hope you don't overstimulate. I read what happened to you last time and argh! I find it's these unexpected swerves that are the hardest to take. Hope you have an ideal cycle this time.

Jennifer, That's terrible that you had to have 3 surgeries to get rid of your polyp. Did they manage to get it vaginally in the end? I had a polyp removed last cycle and it went smoothly, but even that made me crazy. It is just so hard to lose a cycle. I can't imagine losing four. I think I am a little bit closer to the end of my rope on that, though. We've been trying for over four years now. (omgosh, that headbang smiley is such a perfect one for infertility, lol.)

Liam'sMommy, What's the maximum number of mature follicles your RE will do an IUI with? I think mine would consider 6 okay, but maybe that's also partly due to age. I'm 38. There's also this strange thing that I hope we never have to think about, which it that our RE says that the max # of follies for him partly depends on the intended parents' feelings about aborting some of the embryos. What a freaking terrible thing to have to think about when you're in the position that you'd just do about anything to have a baby.

So, as for an update on me... lol I had my first u/s to check on how the gonal-f is working and I think it's all good. I really don't know much about this whole process, so not so sure what the numbers mean, but here's the stats on my follies: they were 14, 11, 11, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, and 7 -- and today was cycle day 8, after five days of shots. I go back on thursday for my next u/s and the NP said that they'd probably do the first iui over the weekend or maybe early in the week, with the second to follow 24 hrs later. It's feeling really fast to me, but I'm guessing the 2WW will even things out. I'm really not looking forward to that.

Have been TTC for 1+ year. Diagnosis is DH has low sperm count and I have right fallopian tube blocked.

IUI#1
CD1: AF
CD2 - 6: Clomid 150mg
CD 12: u/s - Left ovary: 1 X 15mm follicle
Right ovary: 1 X 15mm follicle, 3 X 12mm follicles
CD 13: hCG trigger
CD 14: IUI - sperm count 45 million (91% motile)
2 X 100mg progesterone for 21 days

Now anxiously waiting...blood test on 19-Apr (CD 35, 21dpiui).

Aly: I have read that you did your IUIs on 26-Mar and 27-Mar, and your bloodtest is on 6-Apr. I did my IUI on 29-Mar, why is my bloodtest only on 19-Apr?

Seems like my tww is not two week wait, but three week wait!

rubidoux- wow, lots of good lookin' follies!!! i hope everything goes well for the iui's this weekend.

rainbow- sometimes they'll have you a wait a full week after af is due before they'll do a blood test. You can test at home earlier, though! I hope everything works out for you!

poetgirl- i'm sorry you've had to take so much time off. it's horrible to be forced to take a ttc-break when you don't want one. i had to take one from Jan- July last year, and it was MISERABLE.

No I my beta wont be until April 10 but i'm sure, I will start before then if I'm not preggie, so I test at home starting at 11dpo (I got my first Bfp at 11 dpo so that is my starting point)

Hi IUI mamas-to-be - I'm nursing a massive Clomid migraine at the moment...ugh. Hoping this isn't a precursor for what's to come (increased estrogen levels which signal overstimulation.) I have my follicle check via ultrasound on Friday morning and if they find at least one that is decent-sized (I'll be CD 8 then - they call me the 'Clomid super-responder' at that office...they have to monitor me early) they'll trigger me Saturday and hopefully do the IUI on Monday.

rubidoux: The maximum number of follicles my RE will allow for an IUI (for me, anyway) is two...perhaps three. As you know, I had six follicles on CD 14 that measured 20+ mm. My chances of higher order multiples were sky-high (especially for my age - I'm *cough*32*cough*) They had the selective reduction/9-month bedrest/sick babies talk with us. It was really upsetting. You've got a lot of great sized follicles...hope this is your cycle!

Kristen - sorry you've had to have so many hurdles in yoyour TTC journey. Hopefully you'll see a BFP this time around!

Aly - thanks so much for compliling all of our information. I noticed that my info is a week off though. I'm going for an ultrasound 4/4 with possible IUI on 4/7 or 4/8.

Rainbow - my RE makes me wait 3 weeks until I get a beta test...Definitely stock up on HPTs!
