Definitely CD2 for me (which is good, no boo hoo, we couldn't try last month so for once I was to see AF) and tonight begins 100 mg Clomid. I only ever took 50 before and it made me incred. depressed for a week. Hoping this goes okay...

Kristen, I'm sorry that you couldn't at least have had a pos. SA out of it all. I think rushing these damn samples between some ridiculous window like 8:15-8:30 (as it is here) takes a toll. Hopefully you're own bding was much more successful. Fingers crossed for you!

Question: At our clinic you have to test pos. opk before 2:00 to get the IUI for the next day. I've only ever had a pos. after 2:00. I'm worried if it's scheduled for the day after that, it will be more on the 36-48 hour track. Any wisdom here? How have you handled scheduling this stuff? This will be my first and I feel...a little perplexed. Thanks.

As far as I understand it, women generally ovulate within 36-48hrs after you get a surge, so if your surge doesn't show up until the afternoon, you would be fine scheduling the iui for the day after instead of the next day. Do you know how closely you ovulate after your surge? Some people o a bit sooner, so if you are watching your fertility signs as well as the opks, that might give you more info. It's been a LONG time since I read tcoyf, but doesn't the fertile fluid pretty much disappear w/in hours of o'ing? Also, my temps give me a good idea as well. My temp takes a sharp dip the day of ovulation, then spikes up the day after.

As for me, I'm only 11dpiui. This 2ww is hard, especially as DH is not around, he's away for a business trip.

I am SOOOO tempted to POAS, but am afraid I get a fake +ve from the trigger and get my hopes up... I've POAS before, all negative of course and then I get sad which makes DH upset. He can't understand why I want to pay $ to buy HPT, when we can just wait for 10 days, either AF comes or we go see the doctor. Haha, since he's not around this week, I'm tempted to go buy a bunch of HPTs to test!

Thanks for all the congrats! However this morning the line is even lighter (almost invisible) So I am not thinking this is a sticky baby. I have heard alot of stories of BFP's getting lighter before having healthy babies but this one has basically disappeared. I tested again first thing in the morning with a FRER again so I'm guessing it should have gotten darker. However I am still not spotting so maybe It's not over yet.

Oh, Aly, don't give up hope! Sometimes it takes awhile to darken up noticeably when you are testing so early. I'm still praying for you.

Hi everyone! Can I join? I'm about to get AF (probably tomorrow), which will mark the first day of our first IUI cycle. I'm excited and hopeful but also scared and a bit gloomy that this is just the beginning of a long journey.

We had our first appointment with the RE specialist yesterday. He was about to make us wait several months for IUI until I could be sure I was ovulating (we have male-factor) but I whipped out my FF charts and he said, okay, let's go to IUI! So that made me happy - we don't have to waste more time. He was convinced I'm ovulating by my charts, but he is concerned that my LP is only 11 days, so I may have to supplement progesterone.

This first IUI we're not doing any ovulation drugs for me, and it seems that may be a very good thing, judging from what all y'all are going through with clomid, etc. Those side effects sound terrible.

I'll have a CD3 ultrasound to make sure I have normal lining and I guess they also check to make sure my ovaries look okay? Has anyone had this? What should I expect?

We get two inseminations per cycle, and they want to go by fertility monitor to time it. It will probably be in two weeks. I'm so nervous. I'm also feeling bad about all the times I'll be missing work (it takes 45 minutes to get to the doctor, and at least 3 more visits in the next month).

We are new to this discussion. We have been trying through IUI's off and on for about 4 yrs. Which we have only attempted to achieve pregnancy about 6 times that all we tried only twice 2 months in a row. We are on Clomid on cd5-9.
We had an HSG test done and all tubes are clear etc..
We had a follicle scan done on cd4 and we had 1 egg on the left side and 4 on the right side. They were about 7mm in size.
Next Wed. we are having a follicle scan again and a trigger shot and doing another follicle scan on Thursday and the IUI on next Friday.

AF showed up thursday, I went to the Dr to start a round of injectibles for next month, when they did my beta (just to be sure) it showed that I did in fact m/c this month (elevated HCG, but obvious declining) I am no longer considered pregnant (my HCG was 5) but they have to wait for it to hit less than 2 before I can start my meds. Hopefully tomorrow, I can start. I think we are going to give the 'ole pocket book a rest this month and just try injectibles and natural, since my insurance will pay for everything including my meds if we try naturally.

I guess its good, now we know there is NOTHING wrong with my tubes, and its good to know it wasn't a false positive on the pg test.

Ugh, hopefully this month will produce better results or its off to IVF for us!

I'm 8dpo and I've decided that I'm not pregnant, though obviously that probably doesn't mean much. Just not feeling like it worked. The tww is hard! I've been doing alot of reading about adoption, trying to turn my attention to something that seems more attainable.

I'm on cd2. Hopefully I'll get my rx tomorrow for 5mg femara and get started again. We're planning to try another iui this cycle, and then I'm takin' a break. I'm so so tired of this ride. I'm tired of feeling like I'm dying inside everytime I'm around anyone who's pg, especially when their not-yet-2yo's are talking to mama's belly. My sil's planned c/s is Thursday night, and they're going to circumcise the poor babe. : And we are fast approaching the due date from the babe we lost in October. Don't we have a smiley for "enough is enough, already!!!!"?

I go in tomorrow for my first IUI after my second month on 50mg Clomid. Since I have never had an IUI, I am a little nervous about the procedure. Is it painful or uncomfortable?

welcome snowbell, and good luck tomorrow with your iui! Experiences can vary, but it can vary from feeling not much at all to some cramping. I fell much more pain from the speculum than I do from the procedure itself. Hope it goes well for you!

That may be exactly the problem. I really can't imagine it any other way. I have even thought about POAS during the time I know I'd get a positive just from the trigger shot to see what it looked like. I don't have too long to wait now, though... My plan is to POAS friday morning before going in for the blood test. I *think* I may actually make it.

I feel like I've not been a good friend to any of my friends. The three women I spend most of my time with have babies who are 2, 6, and 8 months old. There are times that I feel so bitter at them and it's not them, of course. I'm so sorry about your loss.

Rubi, GL! I hear you on not expecting a bfp at all. We haven't been at this nearly as long as you, but maybe because it's our first and I've never been preg., it feels so ... unimaginable at this point. But, it is of course quite possible and I will be : for you.

Hope your IUI went alright today Snowbell. I'm having my first also this week sometime and am a little nervous about it. How was it?

So I'm CD 8 (took Clomid CD2-6), have had high temps at the beginning of this cycle which freaked me out but my acup. said clomid can effect BBT, esp. with hot flashes etc. Anyone else have this experience? Hope it's not a sign of overstimming, but my RE was unimpressed with how I did on 50 mg clomid, so I don't think he's worried about that.
FYI, I had an awful time taking 50 mg Clomid the first time (in Jan, beyond depressed) and this time (100 mg) has been much better, but I've been going to acup. weekly. I think it's made a huge difference. So I expect we'll do the IUI this week. They're not doing the u/s, just clearblue opk reads, but now I kind of wish they were.

Aly, I'm sorry this wasn't the month for you. As I was reading the thread, I was so excited, then so sad....what a rollercoaster. But as you said, you learned something and that's better than not knowing anything! Sounds like injectables minus the IUI is a good move. Do you think there might be progesterone issues?
