Okay. So I heard from somewhere (can't remember where) that if you have a cold/flu, that you won't go into labor until you are somewhat well?

Any ancedotal evidence ladies?

My midwife told me last week she had a lady get the flu and go into labor two days later when she was really sick. She said it was a great birth, though.

I dont know I really hope this isn't true I have broncites pretty bad right now. My midwife told me yesterday that If I'm not better before Wyatt is born I wont be able to hold him right away. Ugh could you imagine. I would flip out. So I started my meds yesterday and I'm hoping I get better before the next 4 days is up

I've heard that one before too and was just hoping it held true last weekend. There was a point when I had gotten away from sitting on the toilet holding a bowl for a little bit when I told my dh I would cry if I went in to labor.

I've heard the same thing but have no evidence as to the veracity of it.

I do know a woman who delivered her second child while she had the chicken pox though. He's a healthy, happy, adorable thirteen year old now.

I have never heard that one before... but my own experience has proven otherwise. i had THE worst sinus infection of my life (not that I've had many but I've never had THAT color green come out of me) and I went into labor with my ds1. I got in the birth pool that had water that was 104 degrees and ended up inducing a fever during my labor as well... and it sucked all the energy out of me!!! But he was born and all was well.

Crashing your ddc (reading about all the babies arriving But just wanted to say that while I would hope that is true, our friend in Alaska had her daughter while very sick. She had a high fever (before labor started, so not an infection) but managed to get through and had a home birth.
