restless legs....still?

I had mildly restless legs toward the end of this pregnancy, but they never bothered me enough to do anything about it. Over the last few days since giving birth, they're worse than ever! What do I take/do/eat?

restless legs

Have you tried supplementing with iron? I'm 40 weeks 3 days right now with #2 and my restless legs have been much worse this time until i started using iron. I was taking floravit but have switched to a new product called spatone which comes form the UK and seems to work better. I take 2 sachets a day in addition to 800 IU if vitamin E and a liquid cal/mag before bed.(Don't take the iron at the same time as cal/mag as they compete for binding sites) ALso, 2 cups of epsom salts in your bath can be soothing. And lastly, nettle tea is supposed to be very high in magnesium and could also help. Good luck!!

I tried several things. The best was a hot water bottle on my legs and lower back. I also started drinking tonic water some during the day. Quinine is supposed to help, the tablets are too high a dose for people who are pregnant but regular tonic water seemed to help. Also massage and stretching helped some! I am so happy that my legs are back to normal, I wasn't sure whether it wouldn't linger after my birth.
