Would you tell?

I live up stairs from my land lord, she a very nice old lady. Her son's also live with her. On the way to the washer-mat down the street, one of her son's friends goes "We though since you were out you had the baby" I told him no that I was just seeing a friend in the city. Should I tell her that I am having a home birth? Normally I would not even think about it, but she live under my feel in the most lit. of way! mer...?

I didnt quite get the end of your post but I dont see the need to tell her.... if she were close to you then that would be up to you to tell her as a friend but if she is just a landlord I dont see why

Hmmm, I don't know.
If you live by yourself it might be worth mentioning so she doesn't call emergency help for you when and if she hears you making some noise...
Otherwise, I don't really think you have any obligations to tell her

I don't think you should say anything until after the birth. Unfortunately, if you don't already know if this woman is supportive of homebirths, you might find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to defend your birthing space because she turns out to be hostile. It's not really worth it in late pregnancy. I'm not telling my MIL even though she is living with us because I'll either go to a hotel if we haven't moved to the bigger house or she'll be separated by a lot more space in the new house. She's the type to freak out over everything.

There's a saying : It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
