You get more than just formula samples. You can subscribe to Disney books and Sesames Street books too! OOOOOOO!

When that happens to me next time, I'm going to say "No. I dislike how Motherhood sells my information to formula companies who violate The World Health Organization's code on the marketing of breastmilk substitute."

Yeah, sadly I signed up while I was pregnant and was clueless about formula samples. They are still coming!

I love that reply.

That's a great reply! I got the bag, but never got any formula stuff in the mail.

Motherhood makes money from formula companies... I won't shop there. JCPenney has great maternity clothes in every size and won't sell your info...

That sucks because they own the three most common maternity stores near me. Mimi maternity, motherhood, and pea in a pod. When I was pregnant JC Penney near me had a horrible selection of maternity clothes. You're lucky that your's is better.

I had to go there. It was either buy some clothes or stay home naked. Wla-Mart, JC Penny, etc. had nothing I would be willing to be seen in. I did sign up though. I wish I had thought about that first.

Mothers Work is also in that lovely company. : I too preferred JC Penney's. Also look at Ebay and yard sales. If your local JC Penneys is no good, there is always on-line.

I've never gotten formula samples from Motherhood, and I've signed up with them. In fact, I don't get anything from them, just the inicial bag you get when you first sign up at the store.

I signed up with Motherhood way back when, because I thought I would get something useful, like coupons for clothes or something. When I got home from the hospital after having DD1 there was an ENORMOUS can of dry formula on our doorstep (we were in the hospital longer than normal since DD1 had jaundice). I can't say for certain that it came from Motherhood, but you definitely have to be careful who you give your information to.

I always traced the boxes of formula samples I received. You can back-track from the shipping label. I was led to a mailing list company which was more than willing to tell me that they had purchased my information from Mothers Work. I contacted Mothers Work (which also owns Motherhood Maternity, Pea in the Pod, and a few others) corporate office and they freely admitted they sold all the identifiying into they got from their customers. They took my name off their list but that didn't stop the samples because of course they had already sold my information while I was pregnant. The person I talked to made it clear the company had no problem with their policy of selling customer info, even when I asked to file a complaint about the practice. As I recall, they didn't even have a procedure for filing a complaint. I never bought another item from any Mothers Work co again.

I go online! The clothing comes in just 2-3 days and you can watch out for the "free shipping days"

Otherwise I would have to drive 100+ miles to get to one!
