bring to your delivery?

Honestly? I was so far off in laborland, I didn't notice. But I think there's a pretty standard list of equipment most midwives bring.

Your midwife should bring resus equipment (oxygen and masks), drugs for hemorrhages (pitocin, etc.), IV antibiotics and saline (for hydration), a fetoscope and something to measure your blood pressure.

It's important to have these things in case of emergency. My midwife said "I bring 6 bags of equipment and an oxygen tank but usually only open the one with the cord clamps."

Do you mean tools and equipment, or supplies?

To me, tools and equip includes such things as b/p monitor, doppler, oxygen, ....

supplies would be things like sterile gloves, chux pads, cord clamps....

In that case, I bring the tools/equip (and in my case, keep it very simple). the parents provide the supplies tho I make sure to have some on hand in case of surprises.

Equipment is what I was most interested in sorry if I wasn't more clear, my husband has some concerns as to what happens in an emergency setting so I was just wondering what kind of equipment midwives Have on hand to deal with an emergency.

oxygen tanks, needles, iv bags, iv lines all that scary junk. various drugs to stop bleeding, doppler, etc, pretty much everything you need and hope not to need.

this is from memory from when i looked through it last time. there are two suitcases full of stuff sitting in my spare room but I'm not as eager to snoop this time around.

Thank you I really appreciate your help =)

This sort of thing really varies by midwife--whether she is licensed or not, a CNM or other kind, and so forth. Any mw should have basic resuscitation and hemorrhage tools on hand; then again any mw should be well versed in knowledge and skills that are more in her hands than in her bag, IMO.

I mean, skills she can use, not just equipment
