If you put a hot washcloth on your zit about how long is it supposed to take to bring it to a head?

LOL! Would you really? How about if I tell you it's on the outside of my labia. Kinda on the area between the labia and the crease where my leg is. There was one. Dh tried to pop it, but said it felt like there was a second layer of skin that was really hard to get through, but he can see a white head. Now there is another one right beside it. They hurt just to sit. When he tries to pop it, it hurts so bad I cry. I'm sure for a popper (I am one, too) it would be very satisfying, to pop, but OUCH! I'm trying to figure out how i can get it to not hurt quite so bad so he can just get in there. Also, about the thick skin or whatever. I have a million lancets from when I was pregnant last time and had gestational diabetes. I went so far as to let dh use one to try to break through the skin. He did, it bled a bit, but he didn't get anything good out of it. It's hurts to pop it, but it hurts not to. I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a blocked ..something... oil something? pore? I can't remember the name, anyhow in the area you described. Very painful.
I tea tree oiled the heck out of it along with hot wash cloths. I think it took a day to come to a point where I sensed I could pop it. I checked in a small mirror and it head a little white spot right under the skin on top of the big zitty thing, so I gave a squeese. The first few seconds HURT then it gave way to sweet relief as it drained. I squeesed until I got blood. Then it healed and I have never experienced anything remotely like that since.

Be very, very, very careful. If it does not drain I would go see your doctor about it. You can get an infection start up if it's been opened and does not drain.

Now, I can't stand much heat at all, either with compresses or baths, so I'll usually go a few days with using compresses and then baths. The nice thing about the bath, as opposed to compresses, is that you can squeeze while still applying heat--so it doesn't hurt as much. The bad thing is you don't really get to see all the goop.

if you steam it for a few min. you should be able to pop it easily. In addition to putting a hot cloth on it you could run some super hot water the shower/bath and close the door and get as close as possible so steam will hit it. If you have a needle you could get dh to poke the base of it and then pop (only do after steaming). I love lancing zits! Im in esthetics school and every time a client comes in that needs extractions I love it! Good luck

I called my midwife. She's an ER nurse, so I figured double the info, right? She thinks it's probably a boil. Said to have dh try to lance it. I got out a lancet from my glucose monitor and it didn't work. Dh got a little bit of clear stuff and a lot of blood. He got a lot of blood because he kept poking it and making it bleed more. We put some antibiotic ointment on it and then a bandaid because she said it needed to be kept very clean. After the kids are in bed I might try the bath. We tried the hot compress this afternoon and it didn't really help. I could do almost straight hot water up to my area as long as I don't sit in it for too long, pregnancy and all.
