Holy cow- Update

Okay..

So I am fairly certain that I have a leak in my water. 0_o

I am sitting on the couch this morning, and I feel a small gush. I didn't cough. I didn't sneeze.. I did nothing! It's slick and wet, and seems a lot like what I remember with my first.

Its been about ten minutes. Nothing since though.

I am trying to get a hold of my husband.

So, like... It is possible it's either a leak in my fore waters, or that I super secret ninja peed myself right?

Update:

Okay. I guess it's official. It's a leak!

But since it's a slow leak, it could be a few more days... keep your fingers crossed for us everyone!

OH keep us posted!!

When my water broke with my first 2 I leaked a little and then it was a constant leak. Hope it's the real thing though!

Wow! That would be so cool if we both labored on the same day.

I just read your post in the UC form! Yay! Today may be the day.

It would be. Especially if we can get Marie on it too. hehe. How is everything going?

I am still waiting to see if anything picks up or anything else happens.

How long before you had a constant leak, mama?

I am pretty sure I had another very tiny leak, but nothing since. :/

It's either a small tear in my forewater, or maybe it's a leak that has since been plugged with baby head? That's my guess.

I feel like an idiot for calling my husband home. We are going to go take a walk somewhere with our son to see if things will get moving, if that encourages more leaking or not. I am having back pain now and again, but nothing exciting.

Keep us posted. Maybe the walk will do some good.

I think you should have your dh home with you, if nothing else so you will remember early labor together. It is his birth too!! I hope things pick up soon!!

Back pain is very exciting! ... well when your in labor. >.<

I hope you can get things going! When your son goes down for a nap you and DH can have a little "cuddle time" and see if that helps too... (Though if you really do think that your water broke, sexual intercourse or do anything that would introduce bacteria to your vagina until you talk with your health care provider)

I may have to join your club, spookymama...

Just went to the bathroom, and when pushing kinda hard (yeah, TMI, but we've pretty much all been there ;-) I "peed" again. But it felt... wrong. Happened one other time before I finished.

Need to do the lying on side thing to let things "pool" and then get up, to double-check. I'd rather not do the pH test thingy since I don't know how to do that without my doctor, and I don't want to put *him* in the position of having me "on the clock" when there's nothing happening contraction-wise.

I kinda hope I'm NOT leaking. I don't like the idea of dealing with leaking for days, and it would be... inconvenient ;-) for baby to arrive in the next couple of days!

Hm, what happens if I am leaking and I go for my appointment on Wednesday? I kinda have to tell them then, huh? ;-)

Oh no!! How did it turn out? Was it a leak?

I don't think leaking so much is a big deal. I know that leaks can reseal themselves (though I am not sure how likely that is this late in the game!). Also if you have sprung a small leak, and they test you by Wednesday, they may not catch it.

I am fairly certain you can get the PH paper at your pharmacy though. It's just a matter of it simply turning colors... if memory serves.

Nah, false alarm. I just needed to pee a LOT, apparently. ;-)

Ah, well, better if baby stays sealed in there for now!

What is the ph supposed to be if it's amniotic fluid? My pH has been really acidic this whole pregnancy (urine). I know they used a special paper that developed a fern like pattern in the presence of fluid with DS1, but I didn't know you could use regular pH to test. Anyone know?

this leaky business is so confusing, isn't it? I just don't know that I would "know" unless I started having contractions too. I think we should all buy the ph paper to have on hand until we are through this!! feeling the back pain too!
