First day With Diva Cup...TMI Alert!

Before I had my son I discovered and loved Instead Cups, used them all the time. After I had my son and tried to go back to them it would always slip out. I recently started researching cups again and decided to give the Diva Cup a try since I could just run to the store this morning and buy it despite it's mixed reviews.
So, I looked through the different methods of folding and inserting and decided to go with the Origami fold, got it in with a little effort, did twist, and tug, and I think it's in right. I haven't had any leaking yet and it's my heavy day.
So let's hope for the best, because I really miss the convenience of a cup!!

You are awesome! It took me about 3 months (one week cycles per month) to really get the hang of the diva cup. Once I inserted it too high and could not get it out (sorry TMI) but just for reference. So I used a pad and went about my day and worked out at the gym and after my workout I was able to grab it and pull it out. So if it should get too high just and you can't get it out just wait a few hours and try again. That is the only advice I have to offer. Congratulations on your no leaks!

Well, I've already taken it out once just to make sure I had it in the right spot(which I don't think I did, because I couldn't reach it with my fingers., but I did discover an excellent much easier way to get it out!!
I'm sure i'm not the first one to think of this, but I was great when I figured it out. I just pushed it out(like pushing out a baby) and I just pushed until I could reach it.
Oh, by the way STEAL NO LEAKS!!!! Did I possibly get it right the first time??

That's so awesome! I'm very happy for you. I'm still dealing with leaks 7 years later but I think I figured it out, I have to push is straight back with a little tilt down not up like I've been doing before, works so much better and goes in easier too! From reading on this list I'm really learning that every woman is different and we all wear our cups in different ways lol

Well, it's been in all day and no leaks!!!: I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the care free world of cups!!!
I have notice that I have a slight bit of irritation down there, I think it's the "stem" rubbing. I will cut that off tonight. I didn't use it when I took it out earlier to make sure I had it in the right spot anyway.
I really didn't have a trick to putting it in, I did the origami fold, and just put it in the same way I put the Instead. Sorry if this is TMI< but we are all women,
I squat, and kind of push it in, I tried the "c" fold, that comes with the directions but I couldn't feel it pop open, and when I put my finger in to check I could tell it hadn't popped. When I tried the origami, I could feel it pop kind of before it's in place, then I just use one finger to push a little more, then I gave it a little tug, and when it wouldn't move I knew it was in the right spot( I did it once before and it moved, so I knew it wasn't in the right spot).

I don't know if it was easy because I used the Instead cups before. Those were tough to get in the right spot. I had to feel around for my cervix, before I put in, try to aim for it(squatting on the floor) then feel around after to make sure it was in the right spot. It was way more trouble then the Diva was today, plus I still had leaks at night and occasionally during the day.

You got it!! It took me three months and I still won't wear it swimming yet I am just not confident enough. Although I have a few more cycles to really get ready for swim season. Congratulations

Update!!!

Boy have I missed the world of cups!!!! The diva cup was great, I never had any leaks!!!
I ended up cutting off the entire stem because it was just so irritating. I could feel it poking/scratching me .
I swear i've found the easiest way to make sure it's in place. Since I don't have the stem, I can only push it in so far, so what I do is put it in just enough for it to pop, make sure it's fully open, push it it as much as my short little fingers can reach and use my kegals to get it in the rest of the way, and it works EVERY time!!! l To get it out, I bear down(like i'm pushing out a baby), then once I can reach it, I break the seal with my finger and pull it out.
Viola! it's done.

I do find it a bit uncomfortable pulling it out, just the stiffness of it, so after some research I ordered a Mooncup, because it's softer/more flexible. I can't wait until my next period to give it a try(who would think a woman would ever say that!!)
