Mini update on me before I get everyone else updated on the list.
I am on crutches for at least 10 days
: My left knee has been bothering me, and last night at work I could not sleep for the pain *yes, I can sleep at work, I know, don't hate me
* And then I could hardly walk around, so my co-manager came in an hour early for me so I could go to Urgent Care. My regular family doctor appointment is Wednesday, but I could not handle the pain for that long. Our insurance is still paying 100% at the moment, until we hit a certain number, so at least I did not have any copays to worry with.
Anyway, the doctor, who I know really well and is a friend of the family, thinks I had to have twisted it or hurt it in some way, and maybe I just don't remember it. I really can't think of anything I did to it recently. So he gave me some anti inflammatory medication which really helps with the pain, and he wants me to use crutches to help walk with for at least 10 days. Ack! My boss is going to love that
I wont be able to carry donations out to the garage at work. It is okay, DH will probably come by to do it if I ask. But anyway, he did not do an xray because he did not think that it would show anything if it was just a strain, so at least I saved that money from taking away from my insurance.
He also wants me to stay off of it and ice it, etc. I still cooked dinner tonight, but DH did the dishes
But for the most part I was on the couch watching some Judge Judy and American Idol my Mom records for me sometimes since we don't have cable
I was thankful for the distraction. I also got a lot of crocheting done between being up all night last night and being couch bound today.
I have to go to work early tomorrow because I promised my coworker I would to make up for her coming in early. But then after I leave at 8:30 AM monday morning, I wont have to go back until 5 PM Wednesday night. And the only thing I have to do is my family doctor appointment on Wednesday afternoon, so I should have a good chunk of time to just sit on the couch and heal.
On the financial side: I had DH lock up my debits cards in the safe. Too tempting for me, especially now that I am limping around and I don't want to cook. DH promised to cook if I couldn't, but I think I will be okay to do some cooking, I did tonight without too much trouble or pain to my knee. I just don't want any temptations to get processed, overpriced convience food while recovering. So he has those locked up now. I basically used every spare penny we had out of our paychecks Friday towards the snowball, I only kept back enough for DH to get his gas and our budgeted grocery amount. So I have not left myself any room for error, so I need to be careful where my precious grocery dollars go these two weeks
So far I have not needed to go to the grocery store yet.
