wool puddle pad?

any tips?
also where is the best place to buy yardage?
I was thinking of three layers sewing then felting.

I have two that are on their second child. I just used 1 layer, but I'm just using it under a baby at night. It works great - it's about 4' x 4' . For under a toddler I think two layers would be good. Felt then sew.
