Is anyone tempted to do an April fool's joke?

Like call family and say your water broke? i'm just not cheeky enough for it...but its tempting since we're all so close to our due dates...but i think it would just be cruel!

Anyway, don't any of YOU pull that on HERE! hee hee.

happy April Fool's. Hope some NON-fool babies come today for those that are ready!

Somehow, I hadn't thought of that yet! That's way tempting...not sure who to pull it on though. Other than AlpacaWacka. Sigh!
(My parents would positively kill me I think. LOL! That or they would see right through it.)

yeah i think my parents would kill me too seeing they are coming all the way from the US to make it for the birth and missed DS' birth. Just couldn't put them thru it. You better pull your prank off before Alpaca gets on here (altho she's probably busy mooning...)

OT: Elleystar...i think its hilarious that you were put on team pink AND green and said "maybe its a sign" and then now you're having a boy!
This is from an older post in Birth prediction sticky. :

Still waiting to go into labor here. If I do though, no one is going to believe me anyway, so there wouldn't be much point!

If it does happen today (and how unlikely that looks at this point..) what I might do is tell them the baby is the opposite gender of what he/she is. Have my mom announce it, then send out the real birth announcements and have them scratch their heads..

"wow.. Noah looks like a girl... oh.. wait a minute!"

I was thinking about calling someone with "news" of the birth and then decided against it. I think I would jinx myself if I did that.

My husband already told me I better not be calling him up later to tell him I'm in labor unless I really am so I can't play a trick on him. And my mom would think it was sooooo not funny! lol

I was actually coming here to make a new thread "Triplets!!! They're here!!" ... but since this was already here (and specifically mentioned not to!) I didn't

I considered calling/emailing DH and telling him I'm in labor -- but then I worried he'd cancel meetings or something before I had a chance to un-tell him and that wouldn't be any good.

My friend had her little boy on April 1st last year. She called her parents to tell them and they didn't believe her. She said they were on the phone and her parents were like, "yeah right, we have company over so we will call you later." And she said it was all she could do to convince them - she had to hold the baby up to the phone so her parents could hear the faint noises he was making. I think that is even better than a planned April Fools joke!

My Mum is flying back to town today and would kill me if I did that so there is no way I am going to.

I already told DH I wouldn't be calling him today unless it was the real thing. I hate April Fools jokes! I'm actually afraid of going into labor today and having no one believe me. DH took the day off of work yesterday because I'd been up Sunday night with contractions, so I hope he knows I would actually call him as a joke and make him miss more work!

My DH is working from home in his office one room over,on a conference call. I am soo tempted to IM him and say mywater just broke. NOt sure if he would be POd that I did it in the middle of his call or not. I might have to wait til he is off.

I can't believe you remembered that! I had to go and check for myself LOL! I should have known right then!

I was tempted this morning to call and tell everyone the baby was on it's way, but they know what kind of joker I am, and wouldn't believe me anyway. It would totally serve me right if it DOES come today, and still no one believes me!

Although that would solve the problem of keeping away the ones I don't really want all over me when the baby is born. It would serve THEM right to not believe me and not get to see the baby for a few days because they thought I was kidding.

I just happened to see it a few days ago right after you had that thread about the boy!

I emailed dh and told him I was in labor and then quickly followed up with an april fools in the same email. I told him that my april fool's joke was now out of the way, so if I called him and told him I was in labor, that I was NOT joking

When I was pregnant on April Fool's Day 4 years ago with the twins, they played a trick on me. I wasn't due until the 17th, which is only one day before my current baby is due. I'd been 5 cm for a couple of weeks and labor started up on the 1st. I spent the whole day laboring, then everything stopped by that night , but I did get to 8 1/2 cm and ended up having them a week later. I tell them all the time about their April Fool's Day joke on me and they just laugh! I told this baby it better not do the same thing.
