Just in case anyone bought these since they are mostly metal instead of plastic:

They look like a knock-off Sigg bottle. And surprise surprise, they are made in China.

Exactly what I was thinking...I swear I saw those or something just like them at Target and was like "nope...going to get a Sigg from Whole Foods!"

If it's got paint on it and it's made in China, I'm scared of it.

Where are Sigg made? Our Klean Kanteens are made in china as well.

Siggs are manufactured in Switzerland.

The scary thing is that I bought one of these over the summer for my niece, and then thought it might have lead so I emailed the distributor (Downeast Concepts) and they emailed back some junk about "all our products meet the blah blah safety blah", which did not address my question of "do you know if these are lead free."

I never gave it to my niece, I think it is stashed in a closet somewhere.

Sigg's stainless bottles are also made in China, only their aluminum ones are Swiss Made. They don't revieal what is in their lining, but it is established that it can scratch easily, which is why Sigg sells a special brush that will not hurt it, which is why I only use my aluminum Sigg bottle for water.
