Insurance issues...is this legal?

My midwife was contacted by my insurance company and told that they were going to adjust her claim for my care. They told her the amount they were going to pay and she informed me of that amount. Now the insurance company is telling me that the entire second page of her claim has been denied and the amount that they are going to pay is only about 1/2 of what they originally told the MW. My midwife has it in writing from the insurance company as to what they said they were going to pay. Is it legal for them to change that amount? What is my recourse?

My insurance company states that there are no promises to how much will be paid. For an out of network provider they say "up to 60%"Did your mw fill out the claim inaccurately?

Hope this works out for you

I don't know if it's legal for them to change their mind.

We have it in writing that they would pay at the in network rate and they didn't so we are now suing them.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I don't know, but I would file an appeal, and then take them to small claims court.
