Do they make seperate shots of the MMR vaccine?

Well, we got the measles component only for my grandson.

What a mistake that was!!!

It was the last vaccine he ever got and we are still sorry about it. And btw, it was the last time he went to a wbv.

Yes, they do.

But they are expensive and difficult to get in many places.

My ped told me that in CT they are required to offer the MMR separately. We did the measles for my DD and it didn't cost us extra. I've since decided against anymore, so we never got her the mumps and rubella.

I got them separately for my dd. Of course, this was after dumping her old pediatrician and scouring the directory for a pediatrician who would give the shots separately. I had the biggest fights with her former pediatrician because he kept trying to convince me that they were not available separately, and would have his nurses and colleagues call me to try to bully me into just getting the MMR. After calling 30 pediatricians I found a great doctor, who has been very happy to give us the shots one at a time. She didn't even hassle me for skipping the chicken pox vax.
