Homemade Cleaner

In a spray bottle, I use about 1 TBSP pure castille soap (dr. bronners is great), add a generous number of drops of each of lavender and tea tree oil essential oils and fill with water. Works great on kitchen, bathroom, floors, whatever! Is a natural disinfectant. The castille soap helps to loosen stubborn dried on whatever (food on floor, bathtub grime, etc.).

Happy cleaning!

dr. bronner's soap rox my sox!

I use an 1oz of the peppermint flavor on a sprayer with peroxide, this is how I clean everything, literally everything.

I use full strength Dr. Bronner's to clean my tub. It works great and I don't have to use any elbow grease like I do when I use BS!

50/50 distilled water and vinegar. Few drops of TTO. We use it on everything.

We use the same thing, only without TTO. I may put some orange EO in though for a fresh scent. I've really grown to like the smell of vinegar though.

These are great! It's amazing all the uses for Dr. Bronner's. When I first found it the only thing I thought to use it on was me..

I used this recipe but left out the lavender oil because didn't have any ( The Dr. Bronner's I ended up using is lavender though) and I love it!! Thanks!

I also made a 50/50 vinegar/water mixture with orange oil whick I also like and will use in my bathroom.

OK I'm going to be super uncrunchy here and ask how vinegar works to clean.
I keep a spray bottle of mostly vinegar and some water to spray on the germy areas like the handles (in the bathroom), sink areas and toilets.

I use a mixture of citrus EO, straight detergent, vinegar and water for solid surfaces that need shine, like glass table tops and mirrors. I can't remember the ratios.

For tubs and sinks, I use borax or baking soda made into a paste with water and a squirt of detergent on a scratch pad.

For the bathroom, I use Dr. Bronner's diluted with water. I just keep a spray bottle of it. In my kitchen sink: I like to sprinkle baking soda, cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the sink, then scrub it all up with the lemon half. Then I drop the lemons into the disposal to freshen it up. It works great.

do i need to rinse after using the diluted Dr. Bronner's on surfaces?

i'm also wondering, are there any natural recipes for stain removal on clothing?

thanks!

I don't rinse after using the diluted Dr. Bronner's. I wipe it up with a wet cloth, though.

I currently use 1/4 cup ea acv, alcohol and 1/8 tsp tea tree oil in 1/2 gallon of water.

Does anyone use Dr Bronners Sal Suds? I want to try it but it concerns me that there is sodium lauryl sulfate in it. It is hailed as an all-natural cleaner but that bothers me. What is your take on it? Is it safe? If it is I want to make my own dishsoap and laundry soap with it.

white vinegar, orange eo, and bs clean our whole bathroom sparkling and we no longer have mildew, which the horrid stuff didn't stop at all. i was really surprised, so was my cleaning lady. for drain cleaning i just mix vinegar and bs and cover. great for the unplugging the toilet.

When I clean the tub I sprinkle BS all over it, spray it with straight vinegar, let it sit for a while then go back and scrub it a bit. I'll do this same thing to clean the oven, it's a little work but it gets the job done. For the toilet I like to use straight hydrogen peroxide.

I'll second vinegar for mildew/mold. After a shower I'll spray it down to prevent mold and I spray my dish rack and cutting board with it too.

Vinegar is acidic- acetic acid- and kills bacteria, mold, germs, deoderizer, cuts grease and soap scum, and dissolves mineral buildup

: I'm not a Bronner's convert, yet.
